there is a tiny bug in the small railroad .bmp file - s_Tiles_railroad.bmp - it's inconsistent with the normal Tiles_railroad.bmp, one part of railroads has a line going up drawn unnecessarily, so in the game when you switch between large and small views there are certain inconsistencies

i circled the parts that should be the same but aren't

it's not a big deal, and probably everyone can correct it with a graphics program, and even not corrected, it's not a problem, but i guess it could be 'fixed' in the next patch for the sake of correctness

e.g. brian topp's operation typhoon:

normally, it's not visible well because the stock small railroad graphics have a lot of grey colour in them, but once you've changed them to black colour, it becomes clearly visible...

Thanks for pointing that out. Do we have any graphical artists volunteering to correct the file and send us a copy for inclusion in the next patch?

i can do it, but it's not hard work, just deleting a few pixels

Fixed it... I'll send you a copy James.

Meanwhile everyone can use this one, my small easter egg for the TOAW community so to speak

It's "disguised" as a GIF file for uploading in this post...
Rename it into s_Tiles_railroad.bmp and put it into your graphics folder.

actually, we also need to correct s_Tiles_damaged_railroad.bmp as it has the same kind of problem

so here's the .zip including the two files (to use them, delete '_new' at the end of each file name)

Thanks for that one, as well. Please go ahead and email me a copy of it, so that I'm less likely to forget about it. iamjamiam AT yahoo DOT com

there are also problems with the file 's_tiles_l_cultivated.bmp' - this is farmland, its graphics are 'contaminated', if you have a close look at farmland from the stock file in small view, you are likely to see small white dots here and there 'contaminating' the view, which shouldn't be there (could someone please confirm it)

it results from the fact that in the graphics file, the pixels that should be white are a different colour - usually very, very similar to white but differing from it by a bit, it can't be noticed with the naked eye anyway...

i've corrected the file, by repainting certain pixels white by trial and error, most bad pixels were along the edges of the file, now they should be gone

this is the .zip file with the corrected graphics

m5000.2006,

Are these corrections for the TOAW III graphics or for the TOAW III Classic graphics? Or are they used for both?

Best wishes,

these are corrected files from the \Graphics\ folder, the standard files used for most scenarios

-------

also i'm attaching a graphics file (which i forgot to do earlier) to show what the problem is with s_tiles_l_cultivated.bmp in small view described above, these bad white dots are not to be mistaken for light brownish dots which are legitimate part of the picture; both look very much alike

They're used in both.

problems with road graphics too - both small and large - s_Tiles_road.bmp and Tiles_road.BMP, certain road configurations give this effect: there is a small dot appearing in cetain locations - not a big problem, but may be annoying for purists

this is so because some lines representing roads in the above graphic files are one pixel too long, which gives that effect on the map

i corrected them deleting unnecessary pixels, now it should be ok

Thanks m5000.2006, here is the fix for my mod's small road and railroad files (and another misc terrain slightly different, I prefer this on 2.40b version).
