My wife went to a kid that was from the mountains of Virginia - and they spoke Elizabethan English in his town (probably still do).

It's probably Tangier Island, Virginia - in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. It is well known for an accent approximating that of Elizabethan England. Of course, in this modern era it is probably fading, due to heavy exposure to television and tourism. I haven't visited it since the '70's.
