I've edited the xml to turn off inflation. Things ran fine for 5 or 6 seasons but for the last couple of offseasons free agent hitters have not reduced their salary demands as the free agent period progresses. Free agent hitters with contracts offers do not reduce their contract demands but free agent pitchers with contracts offers do. Teams without adequate resources are bidding on hitters, this may be contributing to the problem.
