It should, yes.

Marc as a follow up question will there be any facilitation for playing on high resolution monitors?

The reason I ask is that I bought one of Tiller's games and I can't play it on my 22" wide screen monitor at it's default 1680x1050 resolution as the 2d normal view is so tiny the game is unplayable. Don't even think about trying the 2d zoom out view as the map is a tiny postage stamp in the upper left corner of the monitor.

It is so annoying to have to reset my screen resolution to something so abominably low resolution that the game images would be large enough to make the game playable that I just don't play it. The game itself needs to be able to choose resolutions like COTA at game launch rather than forcing a gamer to reset his screen resolution before starting the game.

Good to know that it will run on Vista.

I would reiterate the question of running on 22" monitors, as I am in the same boat.

Good question.

Wish I could help with that request, but I am using only a 19". The resolution of 1280 x 1024 has had no problems running any of the campaign series.. merely providing more "map" to look at all of the views.

Take care and good luck

Regarding the hi resolution monitor question... I also have a 22" LCD monitor that's 1680x1050 native. Playing the Talonsoft Campaign series I have had to work out the best resolutions. The 1440x?? one is pretty decent, making things a bit bigger while still including a goodly portion of the 3D map. I've also used the 1280x?? one as well. I don't consider those "abominably low" .

Eventually I got myself used to the 1680x1050 setting. Thing are a bit small but the tradeoff is being able to see a lot more of the 3D map in the screen. I leave the unit display on the side open all the time so I can click on a hex and that brings up more detail if I need to see it. And with the widescreen you don't sacrifice much to leave it open.

I would also like a change as Hans suggests, but I wouldn't say that it makes the game unplayable. Actually once you have played it awhile the eye candy aspect (such as it is in a ten year old game engine) loses importance and the ability to at a glance see so much of the battlefield becomes a significant help.

Oh, in case anyone wonders... the in-game 3D battlemap display is not resized or stretched if playing on a wide screen. The game uses your desktop setting, and I think this is true of all the Tiller games of this ilk.

Lets hope the bigger screen allows an even bigger map area.

In nVidia's control panel for Vista, there is the ability to set application specific settings. Display resolution may be one of them; haven't checked yet. If available, could set a lower resolution for the app only and then will automatically switch to lower resolution when starting up application (game) and automatically switch back to higher res when exiting game.

If not available as a setting under Vista, may be worth requesting from nVidia.

I run Vista with a 8800GTS to a 56" DLP Samsung widescreen TV with VGA input. Luckily, big enough screen for higher resolutions!
