Status: offline 		Guys I was just wondering how many in here have been playing Witp "Since it came out"(July 04) Non-stop(it has never left your machine).

1.
I started on 1 July 04 with the Download and have never stopped playing. How about you guys?

2. Is it sill your Top wargame(takes most of your gaming time)?

Status: offline 		I picked it up in Oct 04, joined the forum in Nov 04 and have been playing ever since.

I have only picked up a couple of games since then... Silent Hunter 3 and Pacific Fighters. I play Pacific Fighters sometimes while waiting for turns, occcasionally spin up Civ III. Slient Hunter gathers dust...

I spend about 50% of my computer time playing WitP or on the forum. The rest of the time I'm studying for the next exam or preparing a research paper. (only 10 days to graduation, thank God!!!)

Once school is out, I'll have a bit more time for WitP and work, of course.

Status: offline 		I downloaded WitP about a week after it came out while I was at my mob station prior to deploying.  It took all night.  I haven't stopped playing it since.  I rarely play anything else.

Status: offline 		I downloaded it the day it came out.   Had to Download it on my wife's machine and move to over to mine.  Been playing ever since.  Switched machines twice.  I will play other games, but I always come back.

Status: offline 		Nope, can't claim that much longevity. It was the first Matrix game I DL'ed, the same day I got my Internet connection set up, back in April 2005.

But it's still my favorite wargame, bar absolutely none.

Status: offline 		I bought UV in a bargain bin years ago and that brought me to the forum...got into my first PBEM...joined the murmurring crowd anxiously awaiting WitP...the rest is history.

I had never been a part of an online forum until I came here.

Status: offline 		i downloaded it as soon as i discovered (August 2004) it was out (i had stopped playing UV after it started crashing constantly, so wasn't on the forums at that time to discover it... i had been playing UV since 2002, and "War in the South Pacific" since i found it in the bargain bin in about 1994...

On my machine since purchase a year ago - would have got it sooner had I known of it. I don't wonder so much about other wargames, rather I wonder why THIS one exerts so much fascination.

Status: offline 		Mine was purchased the first day of release (at Origins). It took a few more days to reach my hands. It has never left my hard drive since, though I will admit that it took AB's map to really make me like it (I loved the system, having been hooked on UV, but the stock map with its Australian racetrack railsystem really turned me off).

Every now and then I have needed to take a week or two off (though PBEM has changed that), but considering the fact that I used to purchase 10-15 games per year before WITP and I have only purchased about five games since its release - you can see just how much of my time it takes up.

Bravo Zulu? There was a time that “Bravo Zulu” was standard code for a type of tactical chemical weapon. This particular type of chemical agent would cause hallucinations, thus rendering the effected troops ineffective-if still somewhat delighted.

Is this a Freudian slip? Or am I forgetting another common use of Bravo Zulu.

Status: offline 		Having much experiance with war games and understanding how they are generally released full of bugs now a days (heck since I played "North Altantic 86", back in 84 on the ol' Apple 2e); I decide to wait till Christmas 05 to make this one of my presents.

I enjoyed Pac War so much I didn't want to jade myself by buying WiTP too early and I think I waited the right amount of time as I've not purchased a single game since then.

I don't have the time to reliably commit to PBEM so I have put my efforts into modding the Japanese so they stand a chance when I'm the Allies, while trying to retain the "flavor" of the Pacific War.

Status: offline 		Feinder and I started out also when it first came out.  I think we also started the first TEAM game out there against multiple opponents (or at least that was mentioned on the forums).  That game is still going on btw against Ltfighter and Kbullard.
