In my last game when I allocated some of my fighters as CAP they seemed to get stuck in the "arming and fueling" slot and never exited it, even when I allocated every single fighter to CAP all my fighters were listed as "arming and fueling" and none were ever actually launched. This lasted until 00:00 when they suddenly started working again.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Very similar things with me:

In Midway numerous strikes were never launched from Midway and I had one fail to launch from one of my carriers. Thought it was me.

There seemed to be some squadrons in the forming up box but where the others went I'll never know. The day ended and nothing flew.

Have you got a save game for this? It would help to track it down if you can replicate it with a save before and then after the behaviour.

Yep IIRC.

Could have been one of those deals where some had to return due to its resources being used up before getting there. Used up waiting for the group to assemble. Just a guess though.

Gregor, just sent an autosave to you at the support addy - hoping you'll find it in there.

Cheers,
Adam.

No luck on the before save, best I can do right now is one with the problem already occurring.
Sent it to support@ssg.com.au

Well, there appears to be some sort of problem with the CAP modeling and/or functionality. I went back and checked my final results for my last sitting of the Midway scenario, and found that only EIGHT Japanese a/c were lost to the CAP of Midway and the three USN carriers combined, this despite an all-out effort to maximize that aspect of the Allied defense. In a similar vane, an examination of some Pearl Harbor/pre-warning results showed only TWENTY-SIX IJN a/c lost to CAP in spite of the fact that all Army and Navy fighters were devoted to that mission. I believe that's the same number that was lost in the surprise attack.

Someone is terribly wrong, here.

Dang if I don't hate to reply to myself, but I just played another Midway scenario. The after battle results indicated that the U.S. CAP had destroyed NO Japanese fighters, none. Japanese losses were all attributed to heavy flak, fire-damage loss while on CAP, no viable point of return, or prange.
