Hi,

First timer here, having just bought the game, I have a few questions:

1. Are there any tree burst effects, i.e. does arty on a unit in a forest have some bonus?
2. Replays: these are cool, but is it just me, or does it only last 5 turns?
3. ATGs: these seem very vulnerable, in bootcamp 3, my ATG was eliminated the first time anyone fired at it. Is this intended or a bug?

Thanks in advance,
WhiteOwl

Sorry for not giving a comprehensive reply, but I guess you have played Combat Mission a bit? From my knowledge of Finnish military history (which involves fighting in forests a lot!) the tree bursts were quite overdone in the game. In my humble opinion the unsuccessful combat in Huertgen Forest for the US Army has helped to create a myth regarding its effects.

Thanks for the response; Yes, I have played (and still do) CM for quite a while now. I take it the answer to #1 is no?

1. No.
2. I believe I've never recorded a battle.
3. ATGs are vulnerable in real life too, and so should be used carefully. In WW2 at-guns had a kill ratio of 3-4/1, which means 3-4 at-guns lost per one tank killed. There's a tendency in wargaming world to make at-guns more effective than in reality, because players get easily frustrated with them, but they should be used like snipers to get maximum efficiency.
