Hi,
I am not a scenario designer but I was just messing around with the editors and was wondering if the hard and soft target range can be changed on ships and the such from inside the oob editor or the scn. editor. I am just looking to make myself my own little ship battle, nothing fancy, just playing around.

No, you have to edit the platoon file, which requires encryption.

If you would like to change ranges, alter the visibility in the scenario editor to something smaller than 20 hexes.

The change in the ranges of the weapons is also controlled in the weapons file. Like Jason pointed out the file changes need to be encrypted.

I attempted to play with the encryption program that someone linked to but I am gonna venture to say it is outta my league. No biggie, its all good.
