lol..On the unit page for say an airgroup. Is the item you see, such as allow reinforcements what it actually is picked? Or do you have to click it and see donot allow reinforcements? I'm playing the guadacanl scenario as I relearn the game, so it isn't so long term as to tell, but I'm not sure if what I see is what is or vica versa! If you can decode this pleae help! lol

took me awhile to figure it out also when starting out...

the standard rule in this game is "whatever is written(or seen), thats what is happening"

so if you see "allow replacements"...its allowing replacements

I think you are referring to replacements, not reinforcements.....If you click on allowing replacements - you will get more planes to replace your losses(if you satisfy the requirements).....

Also - there are situations that you do not want replacements (keeping high experince planes as a elite unit) - the replacements will draw down your overall Experince - if they are lower than the main unit.........

Not to mention that they use up valuable supplies in a front line base. Or that you might want to use the few replacements for a particular aircraft on a different squadron...

That being said, I leave replacement's off as my standard choice, turning them on only when I want that particular unit to receive them.

As a rule I have replacement off for all air units, except in the far rear area. As a Japanese having enough skilled pilots is a problem and I don't want newbies in the frontline. Also with replacements on, if yoru base is crushed by a naval bombardment or a heavy bomber raid you can receive a lot of damaged AC to replace losses that will be blasted again if the enemy returns.

So having replacement off is needing some more clicks (to add manually AC), but is worth it IMOO.

But what you SEE is what you get....that's what i needed to know!...
NOW...so you have a nice F4 Sqaud and a nice B17 force on Guadacanal...they are being attrited..especially the B17 one...how to you reconstitute the squad if you do not allow replacements?
Thanks!

You need 20,000 supply at a base to draw replacements... occasionally, if you are within transfer range of a base that has that amount of supply, it will let you draw replacements.

Otherwise turn replacements ON - a new fragment will be created at a supplied base (in this case, probably Pearl Harbor) that will attempt to move and rejoin the parent unit. Depending on the distances involved (and the bases you have) this may or may not be possible.

Not always, but it is a general rule.

For instance - if your ships are docked, the button will read "undock ships" (which is not exactly "what you see is what you get")

Is that my cue for "There are no simple questions in WiTP!"?

The questions are nearly always simple.

It's the answers that are the real bogglers.

Asking questions about WiTP is like hugging a tar-baby.
