Year 33: Galba is a Roman Consul Tiberius founds a credit bank in Rome. A financial crisis hits Rome, due to poorly chosen fiscal policies. Land values plummet, and credit is increased. These actions lead to a lack of cash, a crisis of confidence, and much land speculation. The primary victims are senators, knights and the wealthy. Many aristocratic families are ruined. The following Christian chronology uses traditional dates; 30 and 28 are also suggested as a date for these events, and are currently considered the likely dates. Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem - Sunday, March 29 (Palm Sunday) Last Supper - Thursday, April 2 (Holy Thursday) Judas Iscariot, disciple of Jesus, reportedly committed suicide hours before the death of his teacher. Crucifixion of Jesus - Friday, April 3 (Good Friday) Resurrection of Jesus - Sunday, April 5 (Easter) Ascension of Jesus - Thursday, May 14 (Ascension Day) The Coming of the Holy Spirit - Sunday, May 24 (Pentecost) Traditionally, Christianity was founded on this date, since the "preparation period" for the Church Age was complete. The Eastern Orthodox and the Roman Catholic denominations also claim founding on this date. Details of the beginning of the Christian Church are found in the Biblical book of Acts. Saint Peter became Pope (according to Roman Catholic tradition) (see 32)
