yes, but some changes implemented earlier created a mess which means that ...

with all due respect to the duck.

Nik, its a hell of a job.
Seriously.

but, you are changing and tweaking lots of stuff from version to version without proper testing first like AA, ASW, Dur, pilot numbers etc. I do not want to quote yourself but some of those earlier implemented tweaks were removed by You later on which is perfectly OK for a modder but unfortunately not so ok for a player.
It looks to me that You catch an idea and You just give it a go!

ie Mod 9.0
Fighter separate durability scale removed due to issue of increased DUR values exacerbating a pre-existing condition in the game that impacts serviceability ratios for certain fighter air group sizes and/or types when placed on CAP patrol status. Fighter DUR values have been restored to pre-7.0 values.

HOWEVER as I have read a whole NikMod.doc att. to Your latest relese I must say that it looks like its worth a try. I will.

I do as much testing as I can, but i am one man so sometimes some changes get more airtime than others......I recently created an experimental version of the mod for that very reason, because the changes need more testing. On the small Guadalcanal scenario alone i spent 6+ months playtesting with Joe Wilkerson and even there we kept catching things and fixing them so yes....when you tweak, when you change your going to run into risks of failure or error. But in overall terms much of what is in Nikmod has received alot of playtime and static testing. Some items were removed simply because they either didn't work (Like the DUR change for Yamato) or proved unnecessary (Fort changes for China) In the case of the last version, like i said.....the changes uncovered a bug in the routines that couldn't be fixed even with Developer help so I had to make a change because it was making the game unplayable. I missed it during "testing" because it was intermittant and didn't even show up in some my own PBEM games.

Good....always appreciate feedback. I hope you enjoy it when you get a chance.

As I have said. Latest version is much more than a single baby boom explosion.

I do understand how hard it is to test changes with generic random rolls involved.

any way, I will try this one. No doubt about it. Its a hell of a good job. I am sure that its worth it.

Cheeers!

Thumbs up!

I enjoy the Nik Mod but have also had a blast with BigBs mod as well.  He does more in China and with scaling down beginning Allied pilot experience in Dec 1941.

I would recommend that you try a mod using Andrew Brown's extended map. Once you play on it, you'll never go back to stock.

I have played CHS games and found that it has corrected some problems with stock map and OOB. I am waiting for Big B to put out his latest upgrade (unfortuneately he is taking time out at night to sleep ) or to try RHS level 7 when the changes slow down to a trickle.

Enjoy which ever one you pick.

Gotta stick with CHS.

It doesn't get errors patched every couple of days.

The only reason you see a lot of people playing NikMod is he is holding that duck hostage.
