is anyone buying the "extended dowload service" for an extra $4 ?
2 years download window instead of 30 days.

I have with my last few purchases, i hope you did with GoA...if you even got a serial # yet. At least you'll be able to get it when it really comes out. It's amazing how many times people jump the gun, it ain't ready (or working) until it's official...at best(hee hee). Frankly, pun intended, i don't think it's "just" Digital River...i smell a rat...

Oh good, another conspiracist... Like the guy who thought Matrix was sitting on the next Harpoon game to piss people off...

So this is why you're so popular?...i'm not implying conspiracy, it's a little too easy to blame the usual badguy<Digital River> than to admit some huge oversight after such a long development. Face it, there have been alot of issues lately and IMHO Matrix is trying to do too much..."i'm just being honest"

Your scenerio, while certainly plausable, is just a "guess". Which hardly goes well with the word HONESTY. It serves no positive purpose.

I think it is a nefarious plot hatched by Matrix in order to toy with our emotional stability so that we will be so grateful when it is finally released, we won't object to the "reasonable" price of $100.00. At this point, I think I would actually pay the price; and I even pre-paid in full. See, their plan is already working.

Neither does Simon Cowell...

And, like Simon Cowell, that comparison has nothing to do with anything...

I can confirm that it is online at the Australian store. Downloading it now. Got a serial number and everything.

I probably won't get a chance to actually play tonight, since evenings is for the wife, but I have it for tomorrow at least.

It's subsequently been removed from the US store... AGAIN...

Never made the trip across the pond.

I suppose that if you do not have a CD burner it is worth it. But if you do have a burner then simply copy the zip or set up file onto a CD and you have it whenever you need it. Also use notepad to put the serial number on it and copy that to the disc as well....

Yes I have just purchased it and downloaded it from the US Store and got the confirmation email and serial number with no issues.  The game installed and launched fine, looks good so far.  I like that it runs in a window, looks like it was done in Delphi??  Trying to learn the Delphi Language so that is cool if it was.

Ok, due to an issue at Digital River that was preventing us from making any physical options live (and thus also making the coupons for the boxed copies for the pre-order folks) we had to hold the release. I have no idea why it's live in the store now and able to be purchased, but someone obviously screwed up. Looking into this now.

I'd like the pre-order folks to know that we had decided to specifically not do the download release early so that they woudl be able to get their digital+physical orders in at the same time as everyone else, but somewhere along the line this plan appears to have fallen apart.

Yes, I put it on my lappy and it looks very good. The interface is surprisingly simple from what I can see....

Erik, don't worry about us pre-order peeps, just glad to see the game finally going out. I can wait until Wednesday. But just barely.

There appears to be something wrong with the screen resolution.

Anyone who cares about playing in morethan 1/3rd of your screen (if you are running a large screen) might consider holding off on a purchase. If you don't care, of course, have at it.

It looks like the game resolution is fixed to about 1991 or so. The year that is.

Yeppers, appears fixed at 1024x768. It's no big problem on my 1280x1024 screen (it runs in a window), but it might be problematic on higher resolutions as berkut points out.

Too bad it still hasn't made it to Europe... You'd think it would, given that it's where most of the fighting happened...

EDIT: Disregard. Downloading now...

It wasn't available in the UK site, so I just got it from the US site. With the current exchange rate of $2 to £1, it's a bargin at £22.00 or so (including the extra digital download warranty).

Unfortunately this appears not to be such a good bargin after all, as the game in the UK store is £17.99, plus £2.04 for the digital download 2 year guarentee costs. Which surprises me, considering many games in the UK sell the same price pound for dollar as in the US.

I'm not quite sure I follow - are you saying the game should be priced at £34.99?
