Really like CEaW and enjoy reading all the posts. I'm all for better AI, bug fixes, etc.

However, since I'm rapidy approaching the big six-oh, there are actually higher priorities for features/fixes I'd like. I know some of these are already covered in the proposed patch.

1. The almost uncontrollable scrolling is driving me crazy, especially at zoomed in (even with the arrow keys).

2. Need a zoom level between closest and medium.

3. Need a better way to see unmoved units.

4. Like a way to take units out of the page up/down list, i.e. mark a unit as inactive garrision.

5. Like the UI to shrink to see more of the map.

6. Like operational radius to show around air units when selected.

7. Like repair button to jump to a unit that is damaged.

8. Like to know how much oil/turn I'm getting.

9. Like a (big) map supply level overlay that indicates 0-5 by color.

10. Like a report that show how many of each unit I own or am building.

11. Like a map where the colors are easier to differentiate (I accidently move into sand way too often).

12. Like the dark map option to be toggled on the keyboard (and not so dark).

13. Like UNDO for build and research screens.

What CPU do you have?

Is the scrolling problem tha it is too fast on long distances or is it when you push to scroll just a small distance that it scrolls too far or is it more a inconsistency in the scrolling speed or the drawing?

For me it is because I am not good at mouse control and the accidental scrolling is irritating. I usually just use the small map for movement. The ability to switch scrolling off would be ideal

Can you still remember the name of your first love or for that matter your wife's name? If yes you are not yet a geezer.

The rest of us remember when we had our last bowel movement but anything beyond that is only a guess.

CPU=P4 2.4Gz; video=GF6800 GT (2-3 year old system).

When I push to scroll, it moves too far.

p.s. to you other jokers, i'd like to respond, but it's nap time now.....

If I hit the arrow key quickly and lightly, most of the time the screen jumps 2 hexes in any of the 4 directions. It's pretty touchy though. Many times, if I linger on the key just a millisecond too long, it will move 3 or even 4 hexes.

Hmm, we can always increase the response time from when you press the scroll to when the first jump is made scrolling but that would make the game unresponsive feeling. I do not know exactly what to change here, can anyone come up with an idea of scroll improvement?

The simplest thing would probably be to have a scroll delay which is set by the user. Either by typing a number or moving a scroll bar. The delay could be set in tenths of a second. 0 means no delay and scroll as quick as possible. 1 means a 1/10 second pause between each frame update. Maybe up to a max of 5-10, though 10 would be very very slow!

After starting my first game I think you have a list of wonderful ideas! They all would be very helpful and make a better game exerience. I hope you list is the basis for the next patch.

I only have one more to add...

14. When in widowed mode we should be able to stretch the window size to fit our needs. My window is tiny up in the corner of my monitor. (1920 X 1200)

16. Would like to choose which unit to deploy. The way it is now you have to deploy in order of purchase.
