Japan. IJA took that coastal region, and manage to bring down the hole China airforce in one sweep ;-).

I will need e-mail addresses from Tica&Polonthi... So if you gents can supply me with them we will get rolling...

Russia/China Summer 1939

The Commies don't have much to do in the early game. The Russians send INF to E. Poland to push the WR, while the Chinese begin the great march to the hinterland.

Dahnyul as Axis sneds F39 turn to Kondor as Japan.

A normal fall of the Low Countries, but I suspect we let too many troops escape with their lives. Can anyone direct us to the Frank haus?

Russia/China Fall 39

Practially nothing for us to do at this point. The Chinese were pleased to see the Japanese bombers miss, but that's about it.

Fall 1939:

The Low Countries liberated. The Huns have been repelled with heavy losses. Victory but somehow I think France will still fall next turn

Well played by Polonthi. Germany wasted resources repairing the Low Countries' infrastructure, and now must rebuild again. A sweep over the abandoned Maginot line yields victory. A lone artillery is all that is left in the low countries after the French forces there surrender.

No sign of allegiance from Italy.

The screen shot was supposed to be the before picture, with another showing casualty rate after the turn, but I messed up the 'after' screen shot.

Russia/China Winter 1940

The Russians decline to post a screenshot. We're obviously not experiencing combat and the only thing we could show would be our force dispositions. Not that I'm under too many illusions about keeping them secret, but why volunteer anything? We continue to build up the Red Army and watch developments in the West. Kudos to our esteemed ally on the bloody nose given to Germany in the Low Countries.

Chinese peasants weave bamboo nets and over-large fly swatters in an attempt to catch low-flying Japanese aircraft.

Winter 1940:

Allied:

Our so called Intelligence detected a navy buildup in Germany. Somehow we don't believe it will be used for cruising the Baltic.

Yugoslavia should be aware of a strong menace on her border.

Germany has launched a submarine war in the Atlantic. The score is one Transport Destroyed (+1 to US war entry :-) against 2 UBoats Destroyed. Nice omen.

Germany does indeed decide that it just didn't like the way Yugoslavia was just sitting there all pro-allied and all. So we came in and laid down some old school Blitzkrieg.

Meanwhile, after letting my subs get filled up with sea water (apparently not good for the crew), the remaining sub fleet runs away to pout.

Russia/China Spring 1940

More building, while watching political developments throughout the rest of Europe. The Germans move tanks to our border very early, which can only be considered provocative action.

The Chinese are pleased to actually have some factories and infrastructure still standing.

Spring 1940:

Allied:

Germany has still his aim at Sealion. We seem to be lucky to have Italy still out of the war but next turn might be different. Her Majesty navy is ready. England is fortified as much as we can but his Fighters are not in range yet so we should be safe. Critical turn would be Fall 1940.

The Axis forces have been paralyzed by Allie dominance in the Mediterranean. Germany must concentrate on internal 'Social Restructuring' this turn.

I have one word for my ally Luftwaffe . It seems that WA is building heavy arty forces... with the strong FT squadron...

On the other hand Japan has improved attack rating of its HB-s and the result is already visible in the China... It looks like that WA will give a land lease to China = more targets for my brave pilots!

Guys I am leaving on monday morning to my vacation, and I will not have internet (or any other form of electronic junk) near me... I will be on the Adriatic sea for about a week. Just to let you know...

Russia Summer 1940

As usual, not much to report. The Germans are busy in the Med and Balkans, though an ominous buildup in Poland has begun. The forces sent to S.Italy, however, seem to indicate that a major offensive is still one or two seasons away. (See screenshot)

The Chinese hunker down and hope for bad evasion rolls and autohits.

Summer 1940:

Allied:

Germany seems looking away from the UK Isles and shifting forces to the Med. A heavy presence from the Luftwaffe to help the pathetic Italian airforce has make us rethink our defense. Will the DAK intervene in Lybia?

Germany does indeed seem unsure. Perhaps this will play into the Allies hands as valuable months are spent re-positioning troops without making decisive gains.

Americans are doing usual build up of forces. It's as if they are expecting to take part in some kind of pan-global conflict!

I had lockup so I have a load count of +1.

F40 turn to Kondor.

Fall 1940:

Allies:

Germany decided to send Rommel to Africa with quite a number of troops including 2 Pzr Korps. The rest of Europe seems too quiet, like brewing for a coming storm. Greece is courted by Germany but nothing signed yet.

I was puzzled one moment noticing there was no presence of the Italian Navy in the Central Med, not even those transports having just brought the DAK to Africa before remembering you could rebase transports on an Island having a port even after transporting troops as the cost for moving is -zero-. Never thought of doing so myself and one more reason to defend Malta. Way to go for Germany but unfortunately the Luftwaffe was not prepared for all the Air units I did bring last turn it seems.

After having my 3 fighters clearing the CAP over Malta and even damaging one transport in the process our TAC bombers did sunk the rest. 50% of the Italian transports destroyed, 25% damaged. I tried my luck against the last one in Southern Italy but damaged a HVY fleet instead. Not complaining of course. A reinforced 8th Army with heavy air support is facing Rommel. What's next?

Russia Fall 1940

Sorry, posting a little late.
Closed society that we are, the Soviet Union declines to print photos of our defenses. Suffice it to say we're building at maximum capacity (for now) and preparing for the Fascist onslaught.

We note with concern the beginnings of a Japanese buildup in Manchuria.

The Chinese really don't have many options. The bulk of our army retreats to the hinterland to await developments.

Russia Winter 41
Still nothing to show in terms of screens for the Russians. We watch the furious fighting in the Med as well as the buildup on our borders with obvious interest. The more Germany commits to other theatres the better, obviously. Still, the panzers are starting to pile up in Poland. I wonder if Dan will opt for an early but weaker Barbarossa or wait and build up. As usual, there's not much I can do until I'm unfrozen.

Sources report a small but not inconsequential Japanese build up in Manchuria as well.

Winter 1941:

Allies:

First the only use of the British sub for now is to lift the FOW around Germany coastline and we gladly notice the nicely aligned Kriegsmarine transport fleet without fighter cover or any AA. We will remember how nice a target it could be for our HVY bombers. Next place to visit is the Med and with only Fighters in Malta we can easily send a Light Fleet to look around without any risk. We see also see there are no planes in Sicily so really no risk to look around if we avoid the OPP Fire from Tobruk. I can't contain my surprise to see only 1 MIL and 1 Fighters protecting Northern Italy. Too bad I did move out troops from Gibraltar but I still have a MIL and one AA there. Not good enough but with sacrificing some production I can send one INF from England to invade as well.

Very very tempting target and without ART or Bombers I can use my HVY fleet as I want. Well I decided to send my AA from GIB first and hope my HVY ships would get rid of that MIL in defense. Results is good but just 7 Suppression points on the MIL. 2 more HVY Fleets are ready in support so should be quite a walk in the park but that Fighter scores a hit on my INF by OPP Fire. Too far gone not to go all the way so we send the MIL from GIB as well and it goes through. Rome is liberated and the MIL goes Veteran as well. We won't stay long there for sure but it does destroy 3 factories and what was being produced as well as cutting the supply line to Southern Italy and North Africa.

Our carrier destroys the Italian transports that retreated from Northern Italy not to forget we send our HVY Bomber to Germany and damaged one transport. At least next turn a Sealion against Scotland would be weak and easier to contain.

Now to find a balance in defending England and hoping to keep Northern Italy ours for the next turn.

Our Navy is in Central Med and we will try to defend the transport fleet around France as we needed to cut short for that INF to invade. This whole adventure might be costly at the end.

This will be over fast if I can't get it together.
I am clearly out of my league here. Too many ships!!!!

Well, I expect I will be in bigger trouble by the end of this turn.
The world looks pretty grim when you color in who rules the waves!
