Russia Spring 41
The Russians develop three elite thumb-twiddling units on the Western Front and one in the East.
Kudos to Phil for the neat move in Italy. Very bad luck to then have Spain flip. What are the odds of that happening when Cairo and Gibraltar are still Allied?

We build forces, watch, and wait.

Spring 1941:

Alllies:

What the hell Spain decides to turn Axis Luckily it was one turn too late for Italy but that did create tons of problems. See screenshot.

First the game is set at auto supply which screws up my transports if I don't pay attention each turn. I can't quite make sure where the supplies will be drawn because if the AI can it will take supplies from any available source on the map Each move I need to check my transports lines and make sure I don't get stuck because I lift the FOW somewhere. For that part transports are very usefull as well

First I redeploy my transports out of Gibraltar and link back Brazil for the production.

Then I need to clear the mess in the Med. Luckily the OPP Fire is done mostly with fighters. One HVY bomber would have screwed everything but we manage to take out Sicily and Southern Italy so Mussolini sees the light and surrenders. The fact that all the troops are mostly out of supplies is helping a lot. Rommel is attacked but not fantastic results.

Strangely enough Portugal is still Neutral but I doubt it would stay for long. Greece is Axis Leaning as well so no chance to backtab Germany there.

I can't imagine the mess I would be in if Cairo would be lost.

Dahnyul as Germany sends Summer 41 turn to Kondor as Japan.

It's all damage control now. Of course, I can mess that up too!
I could see no chances to really redeem myself, so here I am just throwing up a few aircraft and hoping for the best.

Russia Summer 1941
Waiting, waiting, waiting. We'll die in Casablanca. Or at least order some drinks and look at the girls go by.
Anyone know how to accellerate the Russian WR? We're getting tired of sitting around over here.

Summer 1941:

Allies:

Our Italian adventure is over but now with a strong presence of the Luftwaffe it becomes dangerous to sail on the Med. Our carrier damaged is bad news but the absence of an Italian navy is rendering is presence less necessary.

Rommel has been resupplied by Air as expected but the absence of Fighter cover and AA will be his doom. After having our TAC bomber straffing the HVY bomber in Tobruk we can send our fighters to bomb Rommel Deutsche Afrika Korps with the help of our HVY Fleets in the Central Med. One landing with an INF ensures we can use 2 more of those to bomb Rommel Panzers. After such beating we send the Desert Rats to pick up the pieces and the DAK is gone, no survivors. Rommel sits in Cairo for debriefing All that remains is an Elite unsupplied Fighter in Lybia. We expect a few more ships losses next turn but all is good now. Cairo is safe.

In retaliation to England bombing we send our own Lancaster fleet to bomb French factories and our TACS/CAGS to keep the pressure on the Luftwaffe.

One Veteran UBoat ready to use Cairo as a supply base is moving back around Africa. Long journey still and we will be waiting.

Clearly the Wallies are just big mean bullies picking on poor little Germany. I mean, hey! Ouch? Don't you know that hurts when you shoot bullets at us?

Anway, only minor retalliation possible this Fall.

Dahnyul as Germany sends Fall 41 turn to Kondor as Japan.

Russia Fall 1941
Having perfected our tiddlywink and thumb-twiddling skills, STAVKA decides to join the war out of sheer boredom. Unpredictable, us Commies.
The restrictions on transport are such that we can only launch one surprise attack on turn one. We elect to go after Romania, as it's more weakly defended and taking it opens up the Balkans. Also we can reinforce it by sea, allowing for better forward positions at the end of the turn, as the screenshot below shows.

Fall 1941:

Allies:

Finaly Britain don't stand alone anymore. We are still protecting the Isles against a possible invasion but we can bet the Med is secured now that Germany has other things to worry about than our little army. From the troops numbers I think Germany will regret the way we were hurting them because Russia will be meaner for sure. Just look at the number of ART it's 7 to 1 ratio... in favor of Russia of course.

Japan just invaded Siam so unless Tojo is out of his mind we would bet that they are waiting for the Congress to vote in favor of entering the War. We will be ready for it.

Russia Winter 1942

The Russians consider a winter offensive but opt for a massive troop buildup instead. There's no rush. The screenshot shows the preponderance of Russian forces in Romania and Poland.

Winter 1942:

Allies:

After raping Siam (a close ally) Japan decides to launch a sneak but efficient attack against Hawai

As a result our turn is quite quiet shifting forces where needed. Only action is about hunting UBoats and Japanese subs.

Japan is for now in good strategically position... but not for long as USA diverts all her assets towards east...
Lack of Chinas factories made IJA attack Changsa and altough I didn´t have a chance of actually taking the ground, IJA did a good damage to large China army there (not so large any more ;-).

Spring 1942:

Allies:

The Red Army is in Western Poland with something like 40 Units and in Yugoslavia with 25 Units. The German army is almost absent on the East Front. We would have loved to open a second front but Germany to our surprise did reinforce his Atlantic Wall instead of trying to hold in the East. So we did chase German Fighters and bomb factories.

More assets are send against Japan. India is secured and we begin to strike Japan airfields in Singapore. 6 Fighters against 2 Japanese should do the rest soon. Our carriers are beginning to sink Japanese transports in retaliation to those sunk by the Japanese last turn.

Russia is massing troops in Siberia so the good strategic position of Japan is basically placed in between the Russian hammer and US anvil. As usual nothing Japan can really do once Germany's might is fading.

Russia
Sorry for the delay, gents. Had a very nasty encounter with a trojan horse virus. Playing from sunny Vancouver for the foreseeable future.

The Russians are feeling good about their position vis a vis Germany. Now the question is how to deal with the Imperialists once the Nazis are done. Our analysts indicate that Russia will be in tough, especially once the American superweapons come on line.

For this turn we take Italy and redistribute forces. I will download a screenshot program and try to get back to sending pictures for next turn.

Summer 1942:

Allies:

Russia is not alone in her struggle. Seeing how desesperately Stalin was begging for us to open a second front we are happy to see Paris liberated. The end is near for Germany.

Japan is beginning to feel how carriers strikes can be effective. 2 Light Fleets and 1 transport hit and it's just a beginning. More is coming. Tokyo is still far nonetheless.

Russia Fall 42

We appreciate the Allied assistance in France, but want them to know that really there's no rush. We're happy to look after the Germans if they'd like to focus on the Japanese. To this end the Red Army moves from Italy into Southern France and repositions forces for a shwerpunkt against West and East Germany.

Looking ahead to the inevitable conflict between Russia and the US, the early demise of Germany offers the Russians an interesting set of options. I think the consensus is that the AWD component of the game is hopelessly biased against the Russians. Unless you gain a victory on the first turn or two you're sunk, especially if the Allies have the A-bomb. But with Japan still strong and Germany teetering the Russians might have a shot. At the very least it'll keep Phil and I both on our toes.

Fall 1942:

Allies:

We are pleased to announce having moved strongly thwarting plans from Spain, Turkey and Iran to backstab the Red Army into our concerting fight to free the world from tyranny.

I'm sure Uncle Joe will welcome those news.

We are noticing some moves from the Japanese Imperial navy against Hawai and possibly our West Coast. We will monitor those closely.

Winter 1943:

Allies:

Germany finaly surrender. We notice that Stalin didn't respect the agreement of Yalta and moved beyond it's assigned partition line.

We will rectify this later on

In the meantime we bring a bit more planes in the Pacific to train our pilots for the next one

Pearl Harbor having no strategic interest will be left as it is for the moment but I'll be back

Spring 1943:

Allies:

The world is watching the USSR raping more and more neutral countries. Only the open seas are stopping them... for now

Our airforce got some training sinking 5 Japanese transports left behind after evacuating troops to face the Red Army hordes. We did indeed notice some defect in our planes as one squadron was shotdown by some Japanese sailor spitting at them We will remedy to this asap

You bastard! You killed that inocente, weaponless fisherman. I am glad that they managed to capture yours CAG with their sails .
I can´t do much against WA airforce now so Japan decided to do some fighting with the SU instead.
SU has put out only 3ft-s + 1Hb in Vladivostok to insult the emperor... Response was swift+ that factory will not produce any more FT-s soon...
Rail behind enemy lines is disrupted.
Now nothing remains to the IJA then to wait and see which part of the empire will be occupied first...

We begin to enjoy some air superiority and looking to turning it to air supremacy.

We try to help Uncle Joe by taking down some Japanese planes but not without losses.

Thailand, Singapore, Java, Sumatra, Celebes and part of China are liberated. We have also come in force in Greece to protect this country from Russia.
