After reading the AGEOD site, I tried a strategy that maxxed out all money levy and drafts.

The Union army became very large indeed. However the Copperheads became active NOT as a result of any battlefield
reverse, but because they didnt like my high-handed financing of the war.

I lost support in almost every New England city.

So I am not so sure it is a good idea to max everything out.

I tried that. Inflation drove up all costs and I couldn`t afford replacements AND new units. I stalemated by 1863. The South couldn`t "win", but I couldn`t punch through so really a Southern Victory IMO.

I guess it`s worth a try if you intend build a huge stack to rush & take Richmond by 1862, along with the victory cites in the West and on the ocean like New Orleans.

in my rookie campaigns as the good guys I have kept spending to upgrading only wisconsin and New York with industrialization upgrades and purchased mainly calvary militia and a few supply wagons to build a depot in Louisville.
Calling for volunteers and a few tax bills passed by the democrats( they love to raise taxes).
SO far so good, but I am playing on easiest settings vs the rebel AI.

It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?
