4. After disembarking the Spanish Guard corps and Castanos into the Naples area, Spain creates a depot on the heavy fleet in order to establish invasion supply. Spain’s impatience to invade will prove costly during the June Economic Phase, as fleet maintenance for a fleet in a sea area will cost $5. FYI: In EiANW, depots are not allowed on fleets that are in the blockade box. Also Note: In EiANW, depots can be placed and/or removed at any time during a Land Phase, before or after movement, but obviously before supply is actually checked. However, the program knows which areas are valid areas for placement BEFORE movement is made (i.e. at the start of the phasing major power’s turn), so if you move to a location two areas away, that is not a supply source or does not already contain a friendly corps, and you try to place a depot in that area, the program will not allow it. In the example shown in the screen shot, Spain is able to disembark and then place the depot (the same as if it had placed the depot first and then disembarked).
