Got Sandeman's mail, thanks Arthur.
Anthony sent me the opening move, but somethings buggy with it, the game doesn't ask for a pwd and Japan starts in production phase, we will have to wait until we short it out.

Ahh ok. Yeah just make sure the game settings are standard...no auto or area supply and teams are correctly numbered.

well, the settings are right ...

but somehow, the game became buggy when i try to save the game (which i have only completed the movement phase so that i have time to discuss strategy with my partner, which by that time may or may not be RJH, the father of two lovely kids) under the right file name from A_vsAQ (cos i once think Avator and Mr. Q will be my next opponent) to ARvsSM ....

somehow, sth buggy happends in the JP turn.

when i go back to the original A_vsAQ file and save it in the same name, i have test-started the JP turn, it looks like it works this time. and of course both the GER and JP counters will be 1 now.

turn sent to RJH, hope it works this time ...

Japan Fa39

Got the turn and sent it, but there is still something that doesn't match, Poland did not surrendered, though this time I was able to move the japanese forces, usual stuff bomb Foochow garrison units previous an assault to it. Taken with light cassualties on my side.

quote:

From email
Hi Gentlemen:

This one allows me to move the japs in movement phase but Poland has not surrendered even when you have taken W. Poland ???

We are playing Total War, right? or are we playing the Uncommon Valor scenario? I can't remember if MrQ said to play with the UV scenario the 2nd 2vs2 round.

I'm sending the original file Anthony sent me and turn done. Tell me if you see Poland surrendered or not, if not maybe we should report this to Brian (Wanderinghead). Don't peek too much into Signint, production queue and other info, not much to be seen anyway.

I'm using v1.011 as I guess you all are. Load counter increased to 4 due to trying to understand what was happening.

Rafael

Screenshot shows Poland has not surrendered
Turn sent to Sandeman and all others for check up.

I haven't gotten a turn from you yet, try resending it please. I've had problems receiving files from Marshall Art... not sure why but his email server returned them to him.

I have looked at both files and can confirm that Poland is still "there" - weird. Anyway, i thought we are supposed to play the Uncommon Valor Scenario, this was clearly not it. So I suggest we start over, with the UV scenario. It makes not much sense to try to salvage this strange game file anyway IMO.

UV that's what I thought we had to use. But here is the question are we going to use the UV that came with the patch or V 2.0 Beta? this latest is much harder to master and requiers a new installation of the game since all other scenarios will be erased.

Up to you Anthony you're starting the game, just let us know.

I haven't received any files from you...none since the first email you sent.

It should be the regular UV using version 1.011, not the beta one.

I do agree with Sandeman, it should be the regular UV sc. Not a modded one.

Sounds like we have quite a lot of problems here.
To clarify, im pretty sure im using UV under v1.011 and not the beta one.

chances are that Poland will surrender at the beginning of the RUS turn (not 100% sure as i never really pay attention to the sequence).

I have forwarded the file from RJH to Sandeman, hope it can at least reach your "junk-mailbox". Sandeman, just have a look at ur inbox and junk-mailbox.

if things still remains unresloved, i shall redo the turn using UV under v1.011.

IMO you should redo the turn starting a new UV game, Sandeman didn't get my saves but Arthur did.

I got the turn from Sandeman, so he must have received rjh's Email. However, if this is the UV scenario, why do the various Pacific Islands have NO victory points and why are the AV tresholds as in the standard scenario?

This one does definitely look like something other than UV. I started a UV game and it looked o.k. in my 1.011 install. Shall we start over?

I got the turn from A511, and Russia did occupy Poland as usual. But we really should be using UV, as that was used in all round 1 games.

Yes, use the UV scenario in 1.011.
There is a chance we may use the modded one in round 3 since by then all players will have played all the world powers.
But for now use the one in 1.011.

Thanks

All right let's start rolling again, this time everything seems to be ok, bty Poland dissapears when the USSR starts its turn.

Jp Su39

Usual first turn, bomb foochow took it and repaired it's factory, only remarkable thing is an IJ air squadron got damaged while attacking chinese fighters; the Emperor has ordered all fighters to be upgraded to zeroes, his wishes have been fulfilled .

Turn over to Sandeman

Summer 39, as usual the WA have little to do other than damage a Uboat, and shift some forces around, mainly to defend out French allies...

turn sent to A511.

The Emperor is not pleased with the accuracy of his airforce. Not a single hit.
Nothing else to report.

Fall 1939 - WA sends supplies to keep the Chinese somewhat mobile. Waiting for the next German move, so far TLC have been left alone. A great relief is the fact that no Axis sub threatens WA shipping.
