Casualties are up to 1.5 million CP and 1.9 million Entente now, btw.

The smell of victory...

Germany calls up volunteers to squash the trembling French as they abandon Verdun.

When victory is measured by moving one hex closer to Paris because the French have allowed you to do so, then god help the Kaiser.

I like well-defined artillery targets.

Danzig and Thorn are now solidly Russian despite a bit of sketchiness around there, its now April 1915.

Its time to give the Huns a taste of British spunk soon I think!

Tsar Nicky is in the glorious position of being at the forefront of the Entente's offensive strategies.  A few salients on the Eastern Front are being pinched out, and the Russian horde is now fully mobilised and ready to break over the Central Powers like an avalanche!

Meanwhile the devious Petain works on ways to kill as many Germans with as few French casualties as possible.  Petain's task is made easier by reports that the Germans have apparently forgotten that trench warfare requires trenches!  Poilus watch with grim amusement from the safety of their dugouts while the vile Hun is blown apart on the field by a storm of shot and shell.

Brunn is a salient jutting into Russian lines. Its weathered an assault with some losses, and Russian artillery is beginning to mass as the place gets pounded. An eastern version of Hellfire Corner for sure.

The Russians know how to treat German dogs.

Going a bit quiet on the west now, a French counterattack got beat off. Theres some fairly sporadic-ish artillery fire.

Artillery...

Rains down on the western front...

Serbia... still doesn't fall... very weird, all their units are destroyed, Trieste recaptured, all Serbian cities firmly under the Austrian... yoke.

Serbia has surrendered now, maybe you missed it?  Surrendered when you took Trieste.  Least I think they did!

And yeah, the French are no slouches when it comes to raining down death and destruction on exposed Huns...

Especially when, up above, well

Biggles is delivering the goods!

Italy just joined the war as well, so now the already tottering Austria has another front to cover.

I'm sure you can work it out.

The Grand Fleet have finally got the upper hand over the High Seas Fleet it seems and the North Sea is safe for the troop transports.  Takes a lot of transports to shift the army over, I should have some left when all is done.

As for the U-boats, only the Hun would resort to such a dastardly, below the belt, and unsportsmanlike form of war.  The best brains in the Royal Navy are working on ways to deal with this menace.

Its looking like War without End for sure at the moment, two major attacks on the Western Front by the Germans are beaten back with heavy losses despite their large numerical advantage against the dug in French.

Well...

We don't have trenches in many places...

But we make due.

Quite a pounding both armies are taking.

The British succeed in forcing the enemy back a little near Orleans and with acceptable losses easily met by reserves.

But to the northeast a salient held by the French gets pinched out and the line straightened a little.  The French part of the line is pretty solidly fortified now.

The Eastern Front weathers several Russian attacks, some successful, some not, in the area of Prussia.

The Caucasus Front has woken up a bit as well with the Russians making some limited gains.

More of Kitcheners men are shipped over the Channel and flood towards the front, eager to bash the Boche.

The enlarged RFC seems to rule the skies, which helps the artillery duels.  The hated Boche still havn't dug any trenches for the most part, so surely when it comes to artillery duels I'm giving more than I get!

The Italians gear up for another push, but the Eastern Front has become mostly static again - for now.  The Russian rail network is being used as new units are brought up and worn down units brought out of the line...

A Big Push under General Rawlinson begins on the Western Front, trying to throw the Germans back.  They have a very long Western Front and are in some places spread relatively thinly.

The Germans assault northwest out of Verdun into the very heavily dug in Frenchmen.  German artillery proves devastating (I bet a fair bit of R&D went on that!) but the stout French give up no ground and inflict heavy casualties upon the enemy.

The Russians are overrunning, at WW1 snails pace speed, southern Austria, and pressing hard at all points on the Eastern Front.
