Glasglow ??? Maybe after a few beers it does.. Glasgow and indeed Scotland is a wonderful place..when it isnt raining..I shall have to check out The Thread and read it before preparing any necessary punishment ie sound of bagpipes or a flock of noisy haggis running amok.. However as The Thread is 625 pages long it might take a while....

I'm part Scottish* so you can't scare me with threats of ethnic music Will it be a flock of wild highland haggis? Scotland is a nice place when you're outside the towns and cities...

*Not like all these people who claim to be part Irish either, an actual part that counts

Actually , I very much like bagpipes. I have quite a few CD's and for a while used to follow a Pipe-band out of Texas (that is, show up at their perfomances when they were in town). I've tried to try Haggis , but every one snatches it away from me. I'd still like to try it. And for a gill of single malt, I'll eat just about anything. My only reason for "dissing" (as the young people say ) Glasglow, is like Liverpool and Manchester , I had bad experinces in my youth visiting there. All three experinces began quite innoccenetly enough, with someone yelling "here, a Yank, kill the bloody b......"! I took that to be local phrase of endearment for tourists or lost exchange students.

It could be. Usually with my weird Bastardized New England accent people think I'm Canadian. So maybe it was my looks......

As a graduate of the University of Georgia from the late 70's/early 80's, I thought that I could hold my booze - that is until I went wine tasting in St Emilion with a couple of Glaswegians... I had to put off riding off on the bike the next day as I was unfit to pedal!

Yes due to the inclement weather conditions here in Scotland,to compensate we have the ability to drink copious amounts of alcohol and generally create mayhem..sometimes on the battlefield but usually in the pub or football (soccer) game will do

I've worked night shift for over twenty years. I've been off work for the last year for radio and chemo therapy and I am still on a night shift schedule. Spent 23 days in the hospital and my gut was not working till one bright doctor realized I wasn't getting any sleep due to my normal sleep schedule. We banned nurses coming in from 0800-1400 and I finally started getting better.

Uh ?? i thought i already explained, maybe i dreamed, or the initial thread diseappeared ?? anyway, some may like to know ?

So: Gladiatt is the name of a horse !
The horse my wife was used to mount in her club.
As i was a particular dumb in using internet and every others moderns means of communications, when i wanted to register on the Witp Forum , i asked her to help me.
Before i could choose a Login, she choose for me .

in november 2007, my wife fall from the horse back...she was severely injured, and nearly broke her spine. We had fear she couldn't walk anymore for at least 2 days before we were told by the doctors it was a "good" injurie. She stayed motionless on our bed at home for 3 months, until the bones repeared. Then she had to re-éducate herself for 5 more months.
The horse is going well, thanks for him (or "it" in english)

So, my login is the name of a horse who nearly screw a part of my life...

What does the name mean? I've tried every French/English dictionary and translator I can find, and no luck.

Well, it mean nothing, it's just a horse name. But my feeling is that is a shortname for "gladiateur" (gladiator in english). Although this horse wasn't a gladiator, it was a really kind horse.....the accident wasn't the horse only fault, most people fell from horse from time to time...it was just plain bad luck for my wife. She fall hard on her back and feel really bad immediately.
She has nothing against the horse....
WE have more against the people in the Emergency service who asked my wife to wait seatted 2 hours.....seatting in her condition was the worse thing it could be asked (but of course, without a scanner to tell what she had, nobody imagine this, and my wife and i neither).
I think the old-dumb-inpolite-uggly-fool lady wich received us should be glad that there was a very massive glass between her and my huge hand ....i think she never realized how near she was of being injured herself this day !

Later on (since it's only a year old for this story), my wife had another health problem in september 2008, and she is still trying to recover. And she is still fighting against a "small cancer" (the word is of my own mother !!. This is one of the many reasons i don't speak anymore to my mother).
So, all in all...a bad year....and it's not finished yet.
SO WHEN WITP GET WRONG, it's the last thing i can stand ! i must tell the AI that I MUST WIN

For those who speak french, it could be interesting to see a " combat de branque !"
For those who speak english, it could be translated as "dumb-combat" or something like that... ;
I was so pleased in my first campaign against the jap AI when i sank the first jap CV (in fact a CVE) in.....october 1943

And by the way, my forename is Eric
