Since some of the playbooks I created are in the MF2 release I guess I should start a thread that lets people now of changes and updates to them that I will post on FBmax. Also this would be a good place for people to post problems or suggestions they have so that I can make the plays/playbooks better.

I have edited the 42 and 34 defenses and have added about 3-4 plays to each defense. All the playbooks using those have been updated, but I still have to do some work on the profiles. But they should be posted tonight.

I completed several college playbooks, and will be posting those some tonight or tomorrow.

Im also going to post some tips that others might find usefull that I have found creating, testing and now using these playbooks in a league.

Tip one: if you are going to give DB drop back to logic and then another logic like zone coverage or read, it is better to move the starting position of these players back, and cut down the distance to the drop back to point. While they are dropping back they will not react to running plays or R in their zone, until they reach the drop back point. For the version of the defenses that will be posted tonight I have moved all zone and read logic SA back 3-4 yards.

Ok I have just uploaded to FBmax a zipped folder with the plays and phonebook files for the 6 pro playbooks that I did that came with MF2.  You can find the zipped file in the unsorted section, file name  "NML MF2 pro playbooks update".

I hope to have the college playbooks up tomorrow.

It is a real head ache having to do profiles for 6 playbooks and then putting the plays in all the profiles, I hope the heck the MF3 has a better file system.

Im going to play some league games with these updated playbooks to see if there are any problems.  If anyone uses them and finds any problems or has any suggestions, please post them here.

I should point out that all you need to do to update the playbooks, is to unzip the file and then copy the complete contents to your plays folder in the Maximum football game folder.

Thanks for the hard work on these, league.  Given that the playbook/profile creation system is a bit cumbersome as you mentioned, I wasn't expecting that you'd get the changes made this quickly.  Your efforts are greatly appreciated by those of us that are still getting used to working with the PDS and want to get the most out of the game right away.

I haven't gotten much playtime in with them yet, but in the limited playing I did last night they are helping the CPU defend the run better.  My longest run was a 22 yarder on the 2nd or so running play, and wound up averaging 6.5 ypc with a very fast, talented RB.  That's a big change from the 10-15 ypc under similar conditions before.  The defenses didn't lose anything in their ability to defend the pass, so the new plays are a clearly a nice step up overall.  I'll do some more testing on the plays and expect that I'll only need to limit RB speed in my upcoming custom league to get believable running stats.

I'm looking forward to the new college playbooks when they drop, too.  I'd like to do a college league but I'm not sure if I want to mess around with all the D1 teams in a league file or not.  Thanks again!

A little burnt out today so probably wont get the college playbooks up for a day or two.  I agree the RB max speed may have to be lowered some, Im thinking about 2-3 points at first.  The stats you got arent bad if you had a very fast RB.  The RB should be able to break a long TD run sometimes, hopefully the defensive changes and a slight change in the max speed will do the job without removing the ability of a fast back to get the big play if the blocking etc. of the play provide the opertunity.

Yup, I'm definitely going to need to test the plays more as I'm seeing much lower numbers in the last game going with me going against the 42 base defense (first game was against the 34) - I averaged only about 3.3 ypc against the CPU, while they averaged about 5.5 ypc.  My first game numbers might have been a little inflated due to having a few facemask calls go my way (and these get tacked onto the rushing numbers by the game logs).  CPU blew me out 48-21.  Loving the new defenses' read and react to the run tendencies thus far.  Back to testing...
