Good luck Oso - FWIW, he just didn't seem to follow that the result wasn't A2A - your escort and his CAP mixed it. the bombers then had a largely unopposed run at his base as the CAP had been fully occupied, and having stacked like a multi storey car park every bomb took out a plane... from the rants I got the distinct impression he'd not twigged that his biggest losses weren't CAP a/c being shot down, but a/c still sitting on the field getting bombed. He also hasn't understood that the combat animations include a fair degree of misinformation. WIKI is a brilliant idea, but don't quote it - find an article that has references you can double check.... got a small problem in education these days with older students, who don't understand that a Wiki reference doesn't carry any weight on a submission. I'll make good use of the Chinese Lanc story in future explanations. ...and finally, when I was 15 I was an Air Cadet (quite a while back, we still had collar studs for example), and a bunch of us were asked to help out at the local airport where a small aviation museum was starting up...we had an ex-French Lanc, I spent a happy summer crawling all over it, sitting in a turret during an engine run was fun but hand pumping the bomb doors was considerably less enjoyable. It flew into the airport, I don't know what became of it afterwards but I suspect it didn't fly back out. Used to charge people to climb in at the rear crew door, exit was via a ladder down from the bomb aimer's hatch, please don't twiddle the knobs as you go past. Had the chap who played Guy Gibson visit one day, Richard Todd. (I was most disappointed to find he didn't have a fur collared flying jacket on and a steely air of command... tsk, actors eh?) (edtieid for spelinhje)
