I am finding this very frustrating.
I have set up my BEST players for their positions in my depth chart and when I simulate a league game the computer changes them !!!!
I have edited my players so the best ones are the ones I start.

Does your team roster match your team profile? The only time the computer makes a change to a depth chart is if the players on your team do not match the players indicated in your team profile. Then it has no choice.

Also, keep in mind that if you are simulating a game you are giving control of your team the computer (regardless of whether not not it's a human controlled team) so it will make the adjustments it feels are required to match the team profile. A team in a quick sim game is not a human controlled team anymore, for the duration of the period being simulated, it considered a computer team.

You should be getting a warning about this when you make roster adjustments and before going into quick sim games. You really need to ensure your roster matches your team profile.

If you continue to have difficulty, please set your depth chart how you would like it, then send me the league file. I'll take a look and see what is going on.

thanks
David

My team profile calls for 11 DB
I have 9 active, 3 injured.
What should I do know?

You need to grab two DB's from the free agent list. Injured players are not active so don't count against your roster size. Once you have your active roster matching your team profile, you should not see the computer make depth chart changes.

If you go over or under your allotment for a position (cut a player or add too many) you should see a dialog box saying you have either too few or too many of that position. (see attachment)

But when those 3 injured players get healthy, you will need to make further roster adjustments again.

thanks

A second solution: change the team profile.

I agree.

Then write down what the profile numbers are and make the changes.

It would be nice if the team profile screen had selectors for the position numbers and a save button, but that isn't the case as it stands. One can edit the team profile file, as it is text format.

I changed the team profile.
Thanks all for your help.
The more I play this game and learn it, the more I am liking it.

Hi.

What part didn't work?

I really think you would be better to adjust your roster to match the profile and not try to do it the other way around.

Thanks
David

For the most part I agree, but he may not want 11 DB's on his roster.

Silverbullet, go into the Matrix Games folder and then into the Team Profiles folder.  Open some of them to see which one you would like.  Then go into your league and then into your team edit page and change the Team Profile to which ever one you wanted.  That is easier than creating one from scratch.

If you choose a new profile, edit one, or just keep the one you have, write down the numbers for each position shown on the team profile page of your team.  Make sure that the number of active players for each position matches the numbers in the profile.  If you have 11 DB's in the profile, then you must have 11 active DB's on your roster.

You will likely have to check the free agent wire to add players and cut others from your roster.  The game does this automatically after training camp, but you will have to do it manually if other changes like injuries or signing free agents have caused roster changes.

Thanks Marauders.
I did not want 11 DB's so I followed your advice and found Team Profile Green.
QB-3             LB-7
WR-5            DB-9
CT/OL-10      SB/TE-2
RB-6             KR-1
DL-8             K/P-2

Their were other profiles that I liked but they had KR-0
I don't know how you can return kicks without a KR ??

Thanks again.

Some teams have a KR specialist. That's all that player does is return kicks.
If the team profile has KR=0 then there is no return specialist and that roster spot is available for an extra player at another position.
