Yes, well Lugna is doomed. No use crying over split rice "whine"

However, the IJN has scored two recent victories. IKE has been sending his invasion forces in as multiple small TF's. A few turns ago a TF of mine snuk in past his covering force and hit over 18 transports at Lugna. This turn they struck again, results below. Plus, many AP/AK's have been reported to have taken mine hits.......Shipping has to be getting hard to come by for the allies.

I have emailed IKE to let him know I have resigned. He played a good game

The last two turns have shown me the errors of my plans as Japan. in the last air strike, a handful of F4U's in spite of me having nearly 5 time the escorting Zeros and Oscars, tore apart my planes. Then, this turn a large CA/DD force went after his ships, and was torn apart. I must say the run of bad luck I had in our naval fights is amazing. In every near even match we had, I came off very badly.

I was unprepaired for two things..... one, the huge number of ships IKE received as the allies. Two, how deadly US bombers are once they break the shell of Japan's defensive ring. I guess the strategy is to put everything you can forward as once the US gets a couple of 4 level airfields, Lugna is doomed, and then everything south of SHortlands is dead.

I salute IKE, he played a good game, and I learned a great deal.

Correct me if I am wrong, but all things being equal, Japan will not "beat" the allied player in the traditional sense. Victory for Japanese, is how and when the Allies win. I hope that made sense. Its not a scenario like HoI where you can alter the course of the war.

Like you said, if skills are vastly different that can change things, but that would be considered a skunk, as the game isn't exactly setup to be balanced.

Could be confuisng witp and UV.

I am deeply dissapointed this thread is dead. I check each and every time I log on (quite often) if there is an update. Its funny how Ike's style makes the AAR pop, but it does. Thanks for that Ike.

Not many people are built to play towards the Japanese style of victory, but for selfish reasons I implore you to try

Once Irau falls its game over for the Jap player. Lunga will quickly follow (as in this game) then Munda and Shortland Islands, which make excellent 2E bomber bases and then its goodnight Rabual.......

good points Miller...... If I had it to do over I would have put a full effort into Irau. As a delaying action going up the islands cannot work. the US can pound bases as will. Still, the fight for Irau itself was pretty fun. I am not sure i would play this senario at 100% again though. The US just gets too many ships. As I said, in my last game with IKE as the US, I received 2 BB's total, in this one, I think everly last BB showed up. that hurt as I sent in surfase groups only to find BB's there to pound them, and never gotlucky enough to have a LL strike find and criple some of his BB's first.

In my game with Miller he has put about 1 division, reinforced, at Irau and it's other 2 dot bases.  I would need 3+ divisions, at least, to clear this nest out.  The Allies just get to much as the game goes on to deal with, see my game against BR, unless early naval battles have gone poorly, as they have against Miller each and every time.

So another show closes.

Ahh...yes. I thank Brian for the good game. I say for him as a dependable opponent who will not ¨vanish¨ on anyone if he starts losing or anything like that. I have played two games to entirety with him now and these AAR´s are on here. So if he looks for another game someone should pick him up.
