My only disappointment with this gaming surprise is the random maps.
I have just made ten tries at 60% rivers before a single river appeared. Nearly same lack of control appears to exist with mtns.and forests.
Many times my 90% land maps turn out as under 50%,additionally mountain ranges blocked together along the side of a map where there are no cities are wasted.
If vic ever has time to improve the methods the program uses to generate maps this game will b a gem.

I've not seen this happen.

Generally, I've kept Woods between 20-35, Mountains less than 20, Rivers less than 10, and land >90%. The maps have turned out basically as spec'd

I'm just guessing that maybe such high River values throw a wrench into the routine? I'd like to hear what others have experienced in generating Random maps.

I've actually done only a couple of random maps, but they seemed to fall into the parameters I specified. though admitly, I kept in the mid range.

The only thing I discovered about rivers is, that they really are somewhat off the setting sometimes, but not as much as tremy said. And I created some random maps yet.^^

I've also experienced some strange maps, usually when trying to do something along the lines of 50+ water along with 30+ river - you end up with almost 80% water it oceans with little blob islands instead of continents with rivers.  I've since avoided larger water percentages combines with anything higher than 10% rivers.
