Version is 1.806 (not the hotfix patch). I went for a fresh install after my Windows crashed, I installed them, as a teporary measuer on my other hard drive. So I had to delete the original witp because I couldn't uninstall ince the windows that have t in the registry no longer work.
Oh, and the CTD happens when a large airstrike is about to start. I just get the initial message, but the sircombat screen never appears (only on large combats).
Any thaughts?

Just tryed with altreing the shortcut folder name just in case the game was confusing it with the previous installs. I actually forgot I had 2, one was a forgotten installation, and the other was the one I made the mod in and played. Both are deleted now, but I don't know how to remove them from the dead windows' registry, if at all possible. If only I knew what was causing the crash...every time a bigger air strike happens -> CTD

Sounds like some bad or missing artwork - whenever it tries to call up a plane that is missing it will crash to desktop.

Thanks man,

I did some searching of the previous CTD topics and that's not the case. I just managed to survive the "Lahore raid" of my pbem where the game kapt crashing but I'm not so sure if i was dumb luck or something I did. I'm afraid it's domb luck because at the start the raid was very, very slow. Somehow it didn't crash like on several occaisons before, but still, too slow. I did the whole turn and sent it back to Raver, we'll just have to see how this playes out.

We made it a few turns past the reinstall, and the game still slows down mysteriously at the start of air bombardment, even at sub attacks with successful torpedo hits.
