Back in Summer 2003 I had something of a "purchasing fever". I bought too many games for the time I had to play them. So, in the end I truly enjoyed very very few of them because of lack of time or because the game wasn't really good. Then I purchased WITP. I can safely say that no game -at all- has been present in my hard drive non-stop for four and (almost) a half years in a row in all my life. Wont' need to mention that none was played by me in 4 years in a row with the same dedication as I've played WITP, ever. Since I bought WITP I've rarely bought any other games, so in the end it has given me: -countless hours of great fun and enjoyement -some memorable PBEM moments I would've never wanted to lose (jumping and shouting of pure happiness while reviewing a very sucessful turn, which is nothing but a map, some lines, some artwork and some reports...heh, who said computer games need 3D realistic graphics?) -a more thorough understanding of a WWII theater of war I didn't really understand before. -new friends thanks to playing vs them -and yes, even the casual moment of anger because I was slammed, or because some minor fault in the game engine -etc, etc etc... -and saving money because I now rarely buy any new games... PD: I'd say it's safe to assume that quite some of the ideas content of the expansion comes from work done by modders for their respective mods. So a BIG THANK YOU for you all out there, no matter the mod you worked on. PD2: And what I know for sure is that what I've read in the Admiral's Edition announcement is a list of many, many, many, many requests we users have done through this last four years and a half. And that I'm sure they aren't by far all the new things the add-on brings. So the developers were actually listening and reading about our complaints, requests, suggestions and reports... I said it some 3 years ago and I haven't changed my mind: WITP was the best computer game purchase I've ever done. Nothing compares to it. So I'll buy Admiral's Edition with closed eyes and no matter the price. Matrix paying such attention to their customers is not the smallest of the reasons why I'll do it. I wish many other developers had such an open mind when hearing their customer base. In me, if they keep this way, they got a faithful customer for a long time to come.
