In my 2nd PBEM game the RN is keeping the KB busy by acting as Val and Kate magnets. Meanwhile the USN sneaks up on Guadalcanal to protect a relief force for the 2nd USMC Div fighting on the beach. I get sighted by the IJNAF and land based Kates attack at range 5 - and meet NO CAP - fortunately Yorktown ONLY took 12 bomb hits (56 sys) - and will spend the next 6 months at least in port - if she can get out of Betty range that is.

I was so careful in standing down all my carrier a/c so I wouldn't be discovered on the run down from PH and then completeley forgot to set their orders when the moved north of New Caledonia
My 4 CV flak trap turned into a 4 CV sitting duck......

Ok, here is a recent mistake. I just moved my massive Chinese land force to Canton to begin the seige there. Unfortunately, I forgot to cancel the "march all orders" for my base and avaiation units. I just discoverd that my 300 aircraft at their home base now no longer have any aviation support.

The base units are marching home.

1.Shock-attacking a small enemy force guarding the approaches to a city with a huge army in China, with 'pursue enemy' option on - and then discovering a few turns later that my tank units pursued much faster than the rest of the army and were facing hordes of Chinese troops in the city all alone. Chinese shock attack helped to beat a very hasty retreat towards friendly infantry, leaving dozens of wrecked tanks behind... 2. Moving units out of Tokyo on turn 1 to Gumma in order to pull supplies to expand industries there. Accidentially moved Tokyo base force as well, which on turn one apparently wasn't 'static' for lack of 'static' equipment (this was with an older version of CHS). Of course 'accept replacements' had been allowed. Discovered many turns later that I lacked air support at Tokyo and found Tokyo Base Force at Gumma, now fully equipped and static...

1. Clicking on Port Arthur (twice) when trying to transfer Bettys from Truk to Port Moresby, the transfer range of the Betty is just amazing. 54 Bettys a long way from where I want them and with really tired crews.

2. Sending the Japanese CVE that starts without any aircraft (I forget the name for a the minute) all the way to Rabaul to meet up with the mini Kb -forgetting to put any aircraft on it first.

I had a crazy one with Bobo where he accidently (he claims) sent an Invasion into Manila Bay on Dec 10, 1941!  It cost him a CA. 5-6 other warships, 10-15 AP, and most of the 4th Infantry Division.  I wiped it off the beaches of Manila and that was that!

Oooopppsss...

2nd infantry div. i forgot that they had to sail through bataan to get to manila and then when i decided to abort that stupid invasion i forgot to tell my main sctf to not bombard manila. the cost was 1 ca sunk 1 bb badly damaged 1 ca badly damaged and about 3 dds sunk. oh and then about 4 turns later a stupid transport tf commander decided to sail through bataan for no aparent reason.
