Not sure if this is improved in v1.01 but here is an example of a battle pulled form the log:

1805, Mar Setting France's PSA to 31
1805, Mar Setting Austria's PSA to 26
1805, Mar Austria Wins Battle Of Area148
1805, Mar France Breaks, Austria Wins!
1805, Mar France Casualties , 2 Infantry, 3 Cavalry
1805, Mar Austria Casualties
1805, Mar R3: France Die 3, Perc 5, Mrl 0.20
1805, Mar R3: Austria Die 3, Perc 15, Mrl 1.80
1805, Mar France Casualties , 6 Infantry
1805, Mar Austria Casualties , 1 Infantry
1805, Mar R2: France Die 4, Perc 5, Mrl 0.50
1805, Mar R2: Austria Die 2, Perc 10, Mrl 1.10
1805, Mar France Casualties , 6 Infantry
1805, Mar Austria Casualties , 2 Infantry
1805, Mar R1: France Die 6, Perc 10, Mrl 1.10
1805, Mar R1: Austria Die 1, Perc 10, Mrl 0.80
1805, Mar Day 1 CHITS Austria:Esc Assault France:Withdraw
1805, Mar BATTLE:Area148 Attacker:Austria Defender:France

Critical info that is missing form this report:
1) the corps involved on each side and their strengths
2) the leaders involved
3) the final corps strengths at battle end
4) PP gained and lost (it gives new position on chart but this is not very informative)
5) The final result: units captured, where did the loser go, so on

From this you cannot tell that, for example, the Austrian army was actually 4 PRUSSIAN corps (leaderless) and the French had a single corps, commanded by Massena, which was wiped out resulting in Massena's capture. No one can tell what the strength of the Austrian stack is except as a rough estimate by reverse engineerng the casualty results.

So all these subtleties that could be important to other participants in the game (like, heck, the French, maybe they'd like to know the composition of the force that kicked their ass???) are completely missing, and instead we have largely immaterial information.

It is very important that this sort of thing be improved for the good of the player's situational awareness.

Hi Soapy,

where did you get the log-file from?
I can´t found it in the Matrix folder.

Right click on Status Box and then "copy to clipboard", after you paste on file.txt

I usually write the missed information during the battle.

I don't think that all players must to know everything, on the contrary, for me you shouldn't see the chits selection.

What is worse about this battle (I was France) is that it was AI Controlled (Chit choosing) and the AI choose to take 2 Inf and 3 Cav, when a human player would have choosen 4 Inf and 1 Cav for CAS.

I am sorry but chit choice, force strengths, and battle results are public knowledge when battle is joined. Writing the information during the battle obviously should be unnecessary, the game should simply provide you with that info in the log or in a special battle report available to all players.

This is an important means of gaining intel, and of course it keeps people interested in the game that they can actually SEE what happened.

I would hope this is in a file somewhere. But, I can't find one, either.

Can any of the developers tell us where this info is kept?
