Am I missing something or is a level 2 figher with 2 star exp supposed to lose dogfights against English tactical bombers that are yellow in color, and, yes, there is no fighter support for it.
I think there is a flaw there. Anyone else having that kind of problem?
I'm having to save it several times before I get a satisfactory result.

This is another old post, but I'll add my two bits anyway.  Yes, I have found the same thing.  In my experience the actual combat results bare little relationship to the predicted results.  A 5:4 attack is just as likely to result is actual losses of 1:3 as it is to result in 2:2, or 3:2 or even 6:0 or 0:6 - it will never give you an actual result of 5:4.  If you attack a convoy with a U-boat and the predicted result is 11:0 and your wondering if it's worth exposing your sub to do that much damage, don't be deceived.  The best I have ever done at 11:0 is 10:0 - but usually the lose inflicted is more like 8:0 or 5:0.

The combat results are really pretty unpredictable.  When, as the Germans, I attack a Fench infantry with 3 different units, including an armour (all with odds of at least 5:3 or better) and I lose 12 strengthpoints to the French 4 I try to tell myself it is part of the charm of the game.  Such things are pretty hard for the attacker to swallow, but they are one of those miracles of war - like the Taxis of the Marne for the defender.
