I am wondering what is the best way to set up a league, either through the utility set or in the game under League play. If I use the utility set, it doesn't show up under League play.

I'm not sure if jd's upcoming version will have the ability to create leagues

right now it's probably thru MS Access or Open Office

I do it in game. Pretty easy for me.

How are you creating the league via the utilities? (they don't have any league creation functionality.) Leagues should be created through the game front end.

thanks
David

Sorry, I create the league through the game but add teams via the utilities and they don't show up in the game. Should I just do it through the game period.

I always recommend to do everything in game. That's where the focus of development and testing is placed.

Playbooks excepted obviously because there is no game front end for those yet.

So then what is the utilities (this is at the first screen where the play development system is as well) used for, just a reference? I can create a league and add teams in the game, but I can also access the teams and create them via the utilites but changes aren't recognized there. Just curious.

I don't understand what this means. The Pds is only accessable from within the game, not the utilities.

The utilities used to be needed to do more than they do now, but the PDS and the league creation was added to the main part of the game, so the utilities for them are no longer needed.

The gameplans are still created and modified in the utilities, as are some other functions, but league creation is best done inside the game.

Hi.

Marauders is correct here. Over time the utilities have been phased out because the functionality was added to or improved in the core game. It looks like most people use the utilities now to edit the player data and not much beyond that. It's also the front end for playbooks until that's all moved into the core game.

thanks
David
