I would love to start a discussion here about the quality of Matrix websites: about the general clunkiness and bureaucratic incoherence etc. There are so many problems it's difficult to know where to start, without sounding offensive or facetious...Anybody got any ideas about how to do this, tactfully?

Hi,

I trust you're not a troll.

The best way to handle this tactfully is to do it in a constructive way in private. You'll find the webmaster address in the about page (http://www.matrixgames.com/aboutus/contact.asp).

Pull out a list. Long or short.
Start with the upper left corner of the front page.
For each issue found, propose a solution

My 2 cents,

JeF.

I find the website to be one of the best and most workable websites out there. If you want to see clunky, go to a big name publisher like EA, or a European publisher like JoWood. Matrix is clean and crisp, has a sidebar with new and popular games, and an easy to understand forum.

But I agree with JeF, in private and systematically is the way to make suggestions.

I'll say... Lots of HORRIBLE websites out there, and Matrix's isn't one of them.

I think you're right. Just too coincidental not to be one of ravenhoods multiple personalities.

Montague is the family name of Romeo. Romeo was exiled from Verona, where we lay our scene.

Coincidence?

Not really, I'm afraid. I suspect the chances of pulling that off are about the same as a former poster here had of establishing his 'character' over at Battlefront in the few hours before he got banned there as well. Maybe if you can manage a couple of thousand posts beforehand without making a complete arse of yourself in the way he did you could bring the matter up without offending anybody?

Anyway, enough of that chump. We should be welcoming our new member to the forums, so welcome montague49! You don't like the websites, I see, but which Matrix games do you play and enjoy?

The Matrix Game's forums are second to none. Which I feel is the most important part of any developer/publisher's website.

So, which website service provider do you come here representing, and how much money would you like Matrix to pay you to set up a 'shiny, new and improved' interface for them?

This website is about the best games one out there. The others have a million different menus, flash graphics, annoying sound and music blaring out. Even finding the games forum is a treck, just try it on UBI or EA...horrible.

We need to get this thread locked. I'm sure their are notes being taken in here and I don't want Matrix in any way to be held accountable. Everyone: please do not put in one more post so he can have the satisfaction of watching everyone comment on his brilliant post.
We need you, Erik on this one.

Ok everyone, the original poster may not have been positive but he was not insulting and asked a constructive question. In the future, just let him know to contact me if he wants to send us private feedback. There's no need to imagine anything more than there is. Locking this up.
