I was chatting with Mykal earlier and had the thought of doing one big mass mod for Maximum Football, in the lines of The whole ten yards mod for Madden 07 and the MVP '06 and '07 mods. If you are unfamiliar with them, long story short they modded EVERYTHING into one tidy download.

So here is the idea for the project I'd like to try if we have enough people willing to help. and what we would need...

National Football League

Uniforms & Helmets - Lucas718, bassman58
Field Art & team logos. - Lucas718, bassman58, therhino, BigSmooth
Rosters - 21Sec, quixian (either mix em together or have two rosters to choose from)
Stadiums - Local8h, TBird
Portraits - - therhino
Schedules

Canadian Football League

Uniforms & Helmets - Mykal, Hoop27
Field Art & team logos. Mykal, Hoop27
Rosters - Brockleigh I can live without the bios lol
Stadiums - Local8h, TBird (we can always adjust logos if we need to.)
Portraits - therhino
Schedules

Arena Football League

Uniforms & Helmets - MSO94, Donmvp,
Field Art & team logos. MSO94, Donmvp, thehrino
Rosters
Stadiums - Local8h

NCAA

And then any custom work that anyone would want to donate would be welcome.

Now I am not sure what else can be modded right now so if anyone has input we can add it.

Now this looks like a big project and it is. However some of it has already been done. If those people that have completed anything on the list would like to donate their work to the project the answer will be a huge YES!

Now the next question is. Hey Hoop I don't know how to mod anything what can I do? The easy answer to that is we would need beta testers so if you are willing to test out the works in progress you would be very welcome.

Basically if you are interested in helping out with the project and there are a bunch of you I am hoping would like to chip in just post a reply on here of what you would like to do or donate to the mod. Then I will make a list of who is doing what the only rule would be is that all mods you donate are your own work or you have the express permission of the original modder, so that proper credit can be given.

Either way if this goes it will be a heck of a lot of fun!

Late Edit: I forgot that we can do portraits they just have to be 128x128 then assigned to the player. If anyone wants to do that please let me know. Also Playbooks and Profiles can be modded (duh) So I have added that to the list.

I did a bunch of NFL uniforms a while back. Most of them should still be current so if you want to use any of them then feel free. I believe I also included field art & logos with them. Everything I did was uploaded to fbmax.com.

This is a great idea Hoop27, but I don't know if it's possible to do loading screens. If it can be done though that would be very cool. I can test anything for you. Just send me files when you have them. I can help a little along the way, but am not to good with uniforms.

thanks Lucas I was hoping you would be on board. I have most of what you made, however I didn't see you do every team. Am I just missing things? All the NFL jerseys I have are yours and one other modders, so that will take a chunk out of it.

Also if there is anything else you want to fire in please feel free.

I can do player cards of real NFL, AFL, CFL, and NCAA players. I can also do teams logos although I think they have all been done. I can't do uniforms or rosters though unless you want them to be a mess.

If you want to be the lead guy for portraits you have the job my friend! I was also going to ask if you want to chip in a playbook or a profile as well. I'm actually hoping everyone may want to chip in a profile. should make it more diverse.

Let me figure out the profile thing a little better and I will give you a Spread and/or the Run n Shoot. It will be a major passing offense though.

Sweet TYVM! That was the one I was worried about. (the one HAH!) if it's cool with Don we will throw them into the pack. is that uni's and helmets only or do they include field art?

The AFL set includes the field art and logos, but some unis may need to be updated. I also have the new AFL L1s done. Do you want me to send them to you?

I got no problem with any of arena stuff i`ve done with MSO94 . i believe i did end zones and all the art benn awhile since i looked at them.

I was getting close to being done with the NFL player cards, before my jpeg to bmp converter stopped working. Sorry for the delay. Does anyone know of a free converter where I can convert as many as I want in one go?

Hoop27, fell free to use any NFL uniforms I made. Remember to check the unsorted and unsorted/uniforms sections for Lucas718's and my uniforms(and others). Unfortunately the unsorted section doesn't have the authors name. I added a BM58 to some of the zip files.


therhino, Paint.net, Irvanview and The Gimp are all free graphics programs that will handle the conversions. Just google them. I use Paint Shop Pro and it will do batch conversions but I don't know about the others.

I could do the CFL Rosters. I have 4 of the eight teams that are current as of 3 months ago, and just didn't have the time to punch in the other four.

The one problem is that the CFL rosters are in a great deal of flux as the draft is on Wednesday and training camps will open in the next couple of weeks. But I can see what I can do, based on what the CFL teams have posted on their websites.

The one question I have is: I have jdhalfrack's player editor, and I can punch in everyone's Colleges and such, but the game doesn't really use that (or does it?). If we're looking for just player names, numbers and skin tones, then I can that probably done by the end of next week (at the latest I would think). That is to say, May 10 or so.

If we're looking for full bios, then sometime in early June, i would say. If I can spare that much time.

That would be great so now as far as rosters go we only need the AFL roster. We also need some updated AFL uniforms. Hoop27, what song should we have at the begining of each game?

Some more thoughts: AFL, NFL, CFL, and NCAA would be great, but what about fantasy teams. Some of the best mods are fantasy uniforms and what about Local8Hs new stadium. I think we should add a league that has the best of the created uniforms and stadiums. We could maybe even create a roster with the best football players ever and let them play on the fantasy teams like All Pro 2K8. If we could use Old Coachs 1948 mod that would be cool too. That way would have the best of all the Maximum Football mods from different eras. Just some thoughts. This will take more time, but I think it would be worth it.

alright busy day for me (damn real life lol) thanks to everyone who is contributing I've updated the list.

Also if you know someone that can help refer them to this thread!

Brock. There is no rush to get anything done. make sure you are happy with it. personally I can live without bios.

therhino. You are a freaking animal dude!!!! I cant believe you have all the pics done lol. now we will need a roster to match it up with. As for the Custom League Idea. I love It!!! We should keep that to a later priority once we are sure we have all the 'real life' under control I really like the idea of a custom league.

Thanks Don and Bass for your contributions! my gameplan is that this weekend we will take stock of exactly what we do and dont have. then a action plan to get what we need done. but this has moved better than I could have hoped. thanks again to everyone.

And Marauders I'm waiting for you to chip in with a couple profiles bud! (nudge nudge wink wink!) lol

As I said earlier if anyone wants to chip in just say the word, and if you are a newbie dont feel shy!

If local wants to chip in his stadiums I'd be freaking thrilled. my other thought it is would be nice to take a bunch of those stadiums and customize them to teams (adding some team names and such around the stadium) essentially at the end of the day anything the guys are willing to chip in will be used.

I am having trouble with the NCAA pics right now as it takes longer than the NFL. Do you have a date you want all my stuff by. I already have the custon league done without the rosters. I have a 16 teams that look really good. It took me all day picking which uniforms. There are over 100 really good ones.

A mod is generally anything a user creates that affects a game. From something as simple as making a uniform to actually cracking open code and changing the way a game does things.

Modding is the process of doing the above.

I dont think an installer will be required since David kept everything simple we shouldnt need to worry about unpacking and repacking files (like eagraph does as an example) however I will try and keep it simple enough so you can just open the file and place it in the folder with little hassle.

as for a name. i'm open to suggestions.
