ORIGINAL: TulliusDetritus You have to be kidding, eh? It is true that this is not the generation which won one World Cup on 1998 and then one Euro Cup (Zidane & Co.)... but they are very experienced and tough. Ask the Italians about the last World Cup Final... What we are seeing on this Euro Cup is quite interesting. The Dutch have finally realized that their old "3 defenders only" etc, etc. is a suicide... And they switched to a traditional 4-4-2. But does this mean they have already assimilated this new kind of football (and don't forget it, alien to Dutch football mentality on the last decades, Cruyff & Co.)? I doubt it. If France plays as always the Dutch will be in a serious trouble. Now if they play like Italy -- a horrible, UNEXPECTED match that is -- all can happen, right. I've made my prediction, and I'm sticking to it Courage of my convictions and all that Whilst France are a good side on paper, especially their attacking options, I feel the Cloggies are just that little bit better all round. Plus there's just something about Holland that appeals to me, you have to go with your heart when backing the football If France play as they can, then Holland could be in trouble. But if Holland play like they did against Italy then France will be in trouble too... It'll be interesting to see who is right (it had better be me else I'll have a lot of editing to do to make it look like I was correct from the start ) TO briefly wander away from the discussion: This Euro tournament has been quite a good one to watch so far. Without any British sides in there I'm not too bothered about who wins, so I can just enjoy the football. I'm enjoying watching the 'underdogs' of Croatia and I'll admit a (small) soft spot for Poland But I want Holland to win.
