I have owned CAW for almost a year and have played it off and on for that year with no problems. Recently started playing again with latest patch and have two problems:

1. For the first time ever I am getting random crashes to the desktop. I can't see a pattern and it is happened on two different computers

2. My Autosave files seem to get corrupted - I have been messing around with the interface and been doing a lot of loading old Autosaves to look at things. At first I thought it might be a compatiblity problem with older Autosaves (from last year). So I deleted all these and played a couple of new games. When I went back to these Autosaves everything seemed fine. Loaded fine and no problems. All of sudden the same errors started occuring. What happens is that the games will load the Autosave but gives me a failure error and though I am in the correct scenario, I am not at the point in the game where the Autosave should be (I hope this is clear). I tried getting out of the game and reloading and also rebooting the computer. Nothing seems to help. What is really weird is that one moment everything worked fine and ten minutes later all the files are corrupted.

3. Also just thought of a small problem - in the Coral Seas Scenario the Nominated Speed button always is at "0" - none of the other scenarios are like this

Any help would be appreciated.

Jack

Hi Jack,
Sounds odd.
1. If you are able to narrow it down to a certain screen or situation then let me know. When the game crashes, if you send the crash reports, they do get to me, and i do go through them to see if i can find and fix the problems, so if possible send them away. In the textbox that comes up with the crash report, you can type me a message. Send me an identifying text message and shoot me an email to alexs@ssg.com.au when it's sent and i can go through manually and look at the specific problem if you like.

2. Thats odd - havent had any other reports like this. What is the failure error? There was a problem we had when creating scenario files where the Google Taskbar was installed, but i dont think it should cause this problem. Have you downloaded any extra scenarios etc? If you can send me through one or 2 of the problem ones i can take a look and see if i can spot any obvious problems.

3. I'll check this out.

Alex

1. They have been pretty random - but most have been when I have been screwing around in the intro screen - looking at different scenarios, going back and forth in the editor etc - I am not sure I have had any crashes palying the game itself

2. I do have the Google Toolbar and I did download a Philipine Island Scenario - when I get the failure error it did not elaborate as to why - I do have all the autosvaves if you want them

Thanks
Jack
