That might work, too. Except, I think Marshall said it was a database format. It might not be feasible to have two versions around in that case.

However, Marshall, if NeverMan's idea is plausible, I would have no problem losing the entirety of the log "up until now" for games I'm playing in. It's not very useful anyhow, so losing the data wouldn't bother me.

UNLESS you (the program) are using the log entries in an active way.
