Keep your eye (and more importantly, the wife's) on the prize. A full pension in your early forties AND a marketable trade to boot makes for a happy and contented later life with very few financial worries. I know what I'd do if I had my time over...

My (current) plan is stay in as long as possible. I want to work on the BBMF, and when it arrives I'd like to work on FSTA and gain the civvy licenses I'll need.
