Hurricane's leave a pretty massive footprint. Everytime Texas gets one we get large amounts of rain for a week. And we're like 1000 miles from the coast.

Bruce. I hope you and your family remain safe.

As I posted in my music thread, Jimmy Newquist, one of if not THE favorite musician I have ever had the priviledge of seeing in concert and owning all of his/their CDs(His band is called Caroline's Spine) just messaged me to thank me for posting some of his music on You Tube.
To me, it is the pinnacle, a cherished message from one of my Heroes.

Hi'ya, Gem.

BTW, I think NG's point was that the hurricanes hit Texas and he gets tons of rain in Denver.

You're afraid!

I understand. I'm in a league at work, and can't make the live draft this weekend. The draft party is 1/2 of the fun for the whole season.

why is it that we spend the first nine months of our life in water and the rest of it trying to stay dry?

Not me. I'm a water lover. Swimming, snorkling, body surfing. I absolutely love it all.

Now, when Mother Nature gets testy, rips the roof off of the house, and let's all that water that I love into my house, it's another story. My stuff doesn't like water.

OK, time to do something about the Alien Invasion turn in my inbox.  Has anyone seen Bugs Bunny around anywhere?  I might need his help with these Martians.

I'm getting a little faster with my turns, but I still take a long time.  When my laptop decides to lock up 45 minutes into my turn, it's a little disappointing.    No time to start over with my bed calling me.  Sorry, Brother Mynok.

Hmmm....not impressed with the vocals, guitars a bit repetitive. Actually they kinda sound like an Oasis wannabee.

Hello Martin!

How much longer will you stay down there? Are you feeling that you managed to adopt a little to weather?

Leo "Apollo11"

Hi Leo,

It's around a week or so left now. Can't be too specific, just in case 'the Enemy' is reading this I'm getting there with the weather, when I'm working nights I can usually manage to cope with trousers rather than shorts now. During the daytime it's still a struggle. Probably as much due the physical nature of most of my work as to the 50c temperature. The aircon in my room has been turned down a lot now, but I've just got a new room-mate who has just arrived and isn't used to the heat

It's a strange feeling, knowing that the nighttime temperature is hotter than the daytime back home. It's even more strabge to think that back home we would be struggling to work in the middle of summer. Out here I'm working as hard, but the workload doesn't seem any harder until I get back to my room. We spent pretty much the entire day out on the pan the other day, changing an AAR pod and servicing another jet. That was hard work, we were all still tired 2-3 days afterwards.
