Morning all!

Our wonderful computer geeks are migrating all our data from the current server to a new one. Guess what?! We don't have access to either one now! We're not allowed to keep any data on our computers, of course. It all has to be on the server.

Guess I'll take a nap.

What a mess. They said it would be seamless. Hah. We lost all our data from 9 Aug onward.

As an engineer IT guy, I never use the word "seamless." That's something Sales and Marketing types use.

So, as long we're talking about work...the first email I got this morning was from a coworker about a project we got tossed off two years ago. The customer felt that we were "too expensive and too difficult to work with", mind you they make rockets. The "difficult to work with" part came from the fact that they wanted to cut corners. So anyway, their big test fire was yesterday, and as I understand it, it was a smashing failure, the part that failed was the part we would have done....but they're a big company, I'm sure they can afford to waist two years of effort.
