Good for you too, Steve.  Gradual weight loss is much better (and safer) than quick weight loss.

I'm actually losing some weight too.  I have this little tire that I've been working on.  About 10 lbs to go and I'll be where I want to be.  For me, it's cutting out the junk at lunch (just some sort of protein and veggie, yogurt and a piece of fruit while at work) and dessert only once a week in the evening.  I'm getting much more regular in my running too.  The goal is to do a half marathon next year.  Probably no more marathons for me.  Too time consuming.  Half marathons are much more fun.  The best part is that you can walk after it's over too.

That sounds great Mike! Maybe some day some of us can watch you run (and cheer you on!).

So does birthday cake get a special exemption?

It does sound great, Mike! Instead of watching you run, I'd like to run a half with you. It's been two years, and I'm determined to "get back on the wagon." I'm sure we could talk bobo into a group run somewhere.

Running races with friends is always great fun. The last half I ran was in 96 or 97. I ran it at an 8:30 pace. Not sure I can do that anymore, but hey, it's a goal.

i don't think any of us will be doing that this year.
my pace last year was 10 minute miles. i am hoping to get that down to around 9:00 minutes miles this year. we shall see.

I have no idea what you are talking about. It's almost as if you are implying that I made a typo. And even if I did, it's gone now!

An hour and a half until check-in.  And several more hours until boarding time

Good evening Gem. How's things in the Lone Star Republic tonight?

Other than the nice weather there was a car in my apartment complex that had it's alarm going off continuously for about an hour.
I got a call from the office telling me I better get that alarm to turn off.
Problem is that is not my car.

So turn it off anyway. A properly applied 9 pound sledge should do the job. (Probably not the correct thing to do, but it would be fun).

I would have just answered to them, "Go ahead and tow it."
