After 20 days straight, they gave me Friday through Monday off.  My wife tried to kill me during that time.  I still didn't catch up (especially on sleep) but now things are back to normal.

I did get official notification that I'm moving to another position starting 1 Nov.  I can see my new desk from here.  It's one room over.  I'm be managing mobilizations now.  Lots of spreadsheet work.  I'm looking forward to it.  No more holidays, weekends or emergencies.  Just 0730-1630 Monday through Friday.

Update  on things in evil genius land...

I finally agreed to see the ex-gf over the weekend.  That was interesting.  After we split she really went off the deep end, IMO.  Quit her job, kind of dropped out of society, but it looks like it did her some good.  She looked happier and especially more confident than I've ever seen her.  I think it was the case of a square peg trying to fit into a round hole...was very glad to see that she found her own little square hole portion of the world to live in...which was Boulder btw

Remind me, does Boulder have fewer or more Granola-munching loonies than Denver?

Sorry it took me a minute to respond, I had to put down my granola bowl.

Denver has more total, but Boulder has a higher per capita count. Denver actually has a more diverse group of Granola-munching loonies.

How are things going T?

We're hitting our very busy time at work, and will be there until almost Christmas.  We have a major software release in early December, and as a tester, we'll be busy little beavers right up until it goes out the door.

Need some img]http://bestsmileys.com/coffee/3.gif[/img] with an extra shot of ZOING!(TM) to get me through.

Edit: The fact that a Mk 14 torpedo actually exploded into a Martian AK on the 3/6/42 turn yesterday helps, too.

I'm dying here today. Can't stay awake. The optempo has gone way down. All we have "deployed" are 6 water buffalos to a tiny county here that still doesn't have power or water. Not really much to track or that can go wrong. I'm leaving early today just because I can. What can they do? Move me somewhere else?

Uh, that's not what I meant. Lots of yard work this weekend. That part came this morning.......

Maybe that's why I'm so tired.

Greeley Colorado??? I'm surprised (pleasantly) you're aware of Greeley. It's actually known as more of a middle America town. Greeley was once awarded a prize as being the most American city.

Poor single guy.

Future job prospects still the same, or has there been some movement?

The latest word is that things are looking good into the foreseeable future. My prediction is that the roller coaster ride will continue until the track ends...abruptly.

Hmm...I must have it confused with a different town. The wife has attempted valiantly to bring me up to speed on Colorado "culture".
