Hi all,

You're seriously comparing the suicide-bomber costume with my toe? Seriously?

Of course not!

One (bomb) is extremely bad taste (in this time and place we all are in the world right now)... the other (toe) is just bad joke...

The T-Bomb was an indiscriminate act of terror that innocent children could have been exposed to. I do not believe you have deserved your bans, but the last 1 week one was obviously nature's way of balancing the books for that terrorist act...

Tithe... I thought that suicide bomber picture was rather distasteful...

It doesn't bother me really. It doesn't offend me, but neither do I find it particularly amusing. But then again I'm probably not the best person to use for judging these matters... I can understand that people may find it to be in poor taste and I wouldn't have posted it on this forum, but I see, hear and chuckle at things far worse than that every day at work.

Morning gents. All this football talk.

FOOTBALL RULES!!!

It does, but what you lot do is armoured egg-chasing, not football...

I was JUST getting ready to post, in reply to T, that you're lucky I didn't post the picture of the English Football fan I found on Google.  One more American Football isn't Football comment and I just might have to.

Minnesota Vikings?

PS:  That isn't football.  Regardless of how much you say it is.  If you silly colonials will insist on calling your American Football by the name Football we English will invient new games and call them baseball and basketball before insisting that the whole world calls our sports by these names and calls your versions nuggets (baseball) and sussudio (basketball)...

I wholeheartedly agree with Martin here...

Football is game played with ball (you know the round thing! ) and feet!

What our over-the-big-pond brothers (as Martin wisely said) call football is game played with hands and something resembling leather egg () - the only time player uses his feet on the leather egg is special occasion (yes one single player that has to come from bench and knows just do that one simple kick)... sorry guys... that is NOT football...

Leo "Apollo11"

At least we score some points in our game. You guys run around the field kicking the ball back and forth to each other for over an hour and then decide the game on penalty kicks.

It's all about the strategy in cricket. I guess you chaps don't have the patience for a game where you don't score 10 points a minute every minute of the game....

I like cricket, it's a game where you can sort of watch the game whilst doing other stuff.

Boston (a.k.a. Baw-stin)- i had to help cover the lab up there due to immense bureaucratic stupidity/nonsense.

Hi All!
I was just wondering, what's the difference between the thread and anti thread? (Besides all of the backwards typing) A little history lesson would be great.

The Anti-thread is the (self-admitted) evil "twin" of the Thread...

Much more interaction of folks on the Thread. Tom Label scanned in his "War Cards" and periodically enters them on the Anti-Thread (these were trading cards from 50s or 60s, iirc).

However, each has it's place here... some folks just prefer the Anti-Thread.

This is the 4th incarnation of the Thread... #1 got locked down and isn't accessible... #2 got abridged (about 6 months of post gone) and then locked down, but the remnants are still available. and #3 vanished with the forum software "upgrade"...

The thread should be thought of (in my opion ) as the community gathering place , the place to be with your neighbors, to pass greetings , jokes and general chit chat. The Anti-thread is intended to be more insane. The Thread might be compared to the "Grown-ups table " at social gatherings like holidays , where the Anti-thread is the "kids table". The Thread is the social page , the Anti-thread , the anti-social.

Some regulars of each consider "their" thread to be a religious experince , but in reality , they are different branches of the same family tree, and they really do compliment each other.

The Thread has been around a very long time, is in it's fourth incantation. You need to talk to some of the old timers for more information.

Welcome to both ! Enjoy , and come visit often!
