Hi all,

quote:

ORIGINAL: Terminus

We're just not important enough, Dixie old boy...

I found out on Friday that PRHN is leaving the hospital by the end of the month. She quit her job, presumably earlier this month, to go to Copenhagen and "try something new", as was all she'd tell me when I asked her, with a little laugh at the end.

A tiger can't change its stripes from vertical to horizontal, and she can't help wearing a suit of armour around me, but it still frustrates me. And it frustrates me that it frustrates me...

I'm not in love with her, but I think it's only natural for me to ask about the why's and wherefore's of such a comparatively major event, considering that I thought we'd been relatively friendly with each other for the past nine months. Guess not...

That's why I was so miserable on Friday evening, among other things...

But, as men always say, there are plenty of other "fish" in the "sea"!

Leo "Apollo11"

By my experience, that's usually said by women, but no matter...

Next for me will be joining a local gym. It looks like I've lost about as much weight as I can expect to lose by watching what I eat, and will have to take a more active approach for the rest.

i'm tellin you distance running is the way to go you shed pounds and you get the added bonus of running behind ladies with great legs and asses and you get to stair

And I would have to go outside, and ruin my already poorly knees... I'm thinking taking it slow (and indoors) is the way to start...

Get a bicycle. Unless you're competing in Europe, there is no requirement to take performance enhancing drugs...

As always Bobo, it's not what you said, but how you said it. Here an example of tact...."sir are you aware that you might be wrong on a couple of points?" And here's Bobo "Hey jerk! Are you stupid or what?!" . As I said, Your usual "tact and decorum".

Yah, but you went ahead and did it anyway, dude. Don't regret it. I do it, too, and I always wish I hadn't.

Still, when I see the idiocy that tries to pass itself off as profound, and the teenage punks posing and posturing like a ballet star with a gigantic codpiece shoved down the front of his tights, my legs start twitching uncontrollably, and pretty soon I'm jigging around like Hitler at the railroad car. Next thing you know, there's a post out there that maliciously attacks some poor jerk, and it says I wrote it.

I think there's a shoemaker's elves dynamic at work here somewhere, with overtones of the emperor's new clothes...

I'm always delighted to see either one of you post there. It allows me to say, "There but for the Grace..."!. Besides, I have no need to go to the general's to make a fool of myself, I manage it quite well here among my friends!

There was also the Lt. Calley/Slaughtermeyer incident. That happened shortly after I joined, back in '05.

That was really ugly one. I never did get all the details, but it was definitely given the iron fist of death.

Actually, they do. There was an idiot calling himself Ravinhood who'd been banned for a few weeks, who then ridiculed Erik for not (for some reason) effectuating the ban immediately, resulting in the ban becoming permanent.

I liked Ravinhood. Not everyone's beer of choice I guess. IIRC Chiteng got a lifer sentence.

what did he do?

Don't really remember. I do remember him being prominent in some of the first .50cal v. 20mm, Sherman v. PzkwIV and Zero v. Wildcat threads that I had seen on the UV forum.

Well, "japan" is currently banned, but he is still here, as "cerix". No IP banning.

That's VERY interesting. How'd you find out his idenity? I assume that Japan said so?

If that's correct I find it noteworthy that 1) he's using a British Union Jack as his avatar. 2) He talks to himself (Speaks supporting Japan).

Well, he IS insane, in case you hadn't noticed.

I didn't find out his identity myself, but somebody else (somebody I trust implicitly) pinged his IP address, and found it identical to Japan's.

I never did find out who the mysterious "Bjarne" was who supported my stance against Japan back when I told him to go away...

If you spread your posts around to other threads (like the Anti-thread or geezer thread, you won't lose them all).
