Here's something I didn't know: the French flew the Dauntless in the ETO. Strictly speaking, they flew the A-24, in missions supporting the drive of the French army north after the Dragoon landings, all the way to VE-Day.

Except for the inconvenient fact that we live here on Earth. She couldn't handle Mars. No toilet paper.

Actually she is going there to work with a medical team. It's good work. I'm proud of her.

Sounds very cool and rewarding. I hope she's going somewhere safe.

She's not. Muslim country. One misstep will cause major problems. The good news is that our denomination is very experienced in this environment and has trained the team right.

Don't think I'm not worried.

Thank you my friend. It is MOST appreciated. She is doing good work for the benefit of others. God always blesses such labor. I trust in Him that it will benefit both those who serve and those who are served.

I'm keepin' about sixteen fingers and a half-dozen toes crossed until you tell us that she has returned safely.

Bless you both.

You know, the French seem to have adapted very well to American (and other allied) equipment, organized behind effective leadership, and become a pretty formidable bunch toward the end of WWII.

I will certainly whisper a prayer for her. Training, as you know, only goes so far. I think divine providence and courage are her best allies, plus if she experiences anything like I did she will never take a good bed and flushing toilet for granted again.

Let her know that at least this Threadster has her in his thoughts.

Add another. I say a prayer right now, and please keep us up to date.

Cool and wet Sunday morning, made much better by hot

A turn would add to it, but not a bad morning.

Good morning, Stu.  I spent 5 years in Memphis, so I know exactly how rare a day like today is in July.

Spending the afternoon fixing the first of my wife's laptops. The second one she dropped on the floor yesterday and broke the LCD screen.

Hi all,

Good afternoon!

How are our American brethren? Had nice holiday yesterday (with lots of nice barbecue food, drinks and fireworks)?

Yes indeed, 75 degress, overcast, nice rain last night after the fireworks, but before sunrise. A perfect post 4th to wake up to. High only supposed to be in low 80s. So nice that it's almost downright odd.

I hope everyone's 4th was fun.
