Weird circumstances we're in this weekend, eh? We know what's coming, and there seems little point in doing much except waiting for it...

You could always start a short PBEM for WPO. That won't change or go away.

Fortunately, we are finally getting around to celebrating our anniversary tonight, so I'm off to a nice dinner now. I'll mow and massacre some weeds tomorrow and then do some cooking.

Now Sunday is going to be a looooooong day.

Enjoy!

I could. But I won't.

Sorry, Steve, but with a full-time job in the real world, and AE work, I quite frankly don't have the extra time or energy to do anything else.

Thanks Kristan , but my dance card is full. I'm currently doing 4 short PBEMs (two a mirror game) and was going to do a AE PBEM with Dixie. (If he still wants it!). I only suggested it because you said that you were sick of AE and had already uninstalled WITP.

Okay, guess we're at cross purposes then... You gotta admit, your post was a little leading, though...

Er, and Erik announced that AE is a stand-alone game, which DOES NOT require stock any more. He did it when he announced the new price.

OK - i haven't seen that post... what's the new pricing???

I'm sorry....not my intention, but I certainly can see how it might be taken that way. I do admit that I do hold the ambition to play a PBEM with each of the "Grandmasters" , including yourself. While I realize that both of us are busy, if some time in the future you do have an opening, I'd be honored.

I can understand why any woman would object to anyone buying a book. Would she rather you have a cocain addiction? Maybe you should waste it at a strip joint? If your girl friend complains about you expanding your mind, ask where she would rather you spend it on? I hope she's beautiful and talented , because she certain sounds like she's high maintainance.

Please... No woman ever understood why a man would buy a book on military history. That's not just LogBoy's GFU...

Obviously you guys need to shop around more. When I buy a book on Naval, military or aviation history , my spouse asks if I'd mind if she picked up a book on the US civil war , or perhaps on the Armarda! There are girl history majors too! (it makes it easy to swap out , and read each others too!).

I call bull ****.

You can wear that same material! It's true! Ask Mike (USS America!). 1/5 of our library is Civ war , and it ain't mine!

you just hire a girl to pretend she was your wife while miek was there.

Then PM this gentleman. Asqerix . He came to my home for dinner and spoke with her at lenght.

Hi, i hope it is not too late to step into the breach for Steve´s wife!

Apart from being a great cook and host she really likes history and i still remember with gratitude and appreciation all the interesting discussions we had this evening. The library includes nearly all aspects of military history and is shared by both.

So cursed shall be those who doubt that this man has found a partner who understands and supports his hobby and his interest in history

All of you a have a great weekend and a good start into our first week with AE.

Long Friday evening of work.  At least I got to leave the office to have a nice dinner with my family before picking my testing up again from home.

I did manage to get my turn off to Mynok, only to find he's out celebrating his anniversary.  I had better not get a turn back from him tonight!

Happy Anniversary, my friend!

I've always liked CC. I hope they're going to redo the Arnhem one. The Normandy campaign has always been one of my favourite WWII campaigns so the 2 together seems ideal. Anyway, I just fired it up this morning and am happy to report I didn't even need to read the manual to get right into it but it looks good so far.
