Upon further review it appears that durbik's problem is with americans. Well...unfortunately, I have a hard time blaming him for that one.

Oh thank heaven for that! Lord forbid that he should have a problem with people from the UK,Canada, New Zealand or Australia. Anti-Americanism is alright... There are times I wish we could check our nation-states at the door. And our predjudices.

Since my retirement fron the USN , I've worked in industries that are tourist intensive. And growing up in Maine I always worked in tourist indurties (that's all there is, tourism and lobstering....I've done lobstering thank you very much). And I would like to state , that having dealt with tourist from just about every country, I'd like to state catagorically that .............ALL Tourists are A$$H0le$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't matter where they are from , among other things they are taking a vacation or holiday from are manners. To blame an entire country for it's tourist is insane. Everybodys tourist stink! There are no exceptions. If you don't belive me , then go try working in the tourist industry. So this crap "I hate that country because a tourist from it was rude to me!" is just that .CRAP!!!! Grow up people. There's a whole world of people out there, and the two things everyone has in common is 1) their waste products stink 2) they make lousey tourist.

Using that excuse is just a cowardly way of deneying the truth. People who atttack others because of their race, religion or nation of origin are bigots!

There. Rant over, I think I'll take a vacation and be rude to someone.

I have to say, I'm with you Steve. I imagine tourists can be very annoying, in particular when they come from different cultures, don't speak the language and don't express themselves the way we normally think they should...it's like their from another country or something.

Post work tithe.

My desk exploded today for some silly reason as did the desk of the guy I cover on my "on" days. If I go gray or bald before my time, its because of days like this.

As well as our employers, professions, nationalities, views, opinions, sense of humor, sense of honor and individuality in general.

Face it, the only way it would actually work is if we tried to treat each other with respect, or at least admitted our mistakes freely.....and like hell thats gonna happen.

But apparently ours are particularly obnoxious, pushy, insulting, unrespecting of man, beast or historical fact, not to mention snooty, holier than thou and generally lacking any manners at all and generally strutting around like 1) our waste products dont stink.

I too find it hard to be offended at that.

Probably when he argued that "Operation Barbarossa" was a pre-emptive strike against the Soviets...

Sorry, I got home from work late and then GFU came over to show me the dress she bought for Vegas.

The irony of it is that we're going back to return the dress tomorrow....

Maybe next time she'll ask my opinion first.
