Well, i'm hoping you can get back into the game... i won't say faber is abusing your troops, but these were spotted under his bed the other day:

EDIT: Image removed... sorry, it was intended to be funny (with my warped sense of humor, i thought it was amusing).

That's pretty unpleasant, Robert. Especially since it's the wrong sort of rodent, and therefore gratuitous...

The funny thing is: Before I came to the Alps, I had just 950km in all 2009...

As I've made the descision to start an Florida Ironman 2010, I have to loose 20kg and get a little bit more trained, before

I just finished putting in the last Allied carrier for the Downfall scenario. Ask me how many carriers the combined US and British fleet gets. Go ahead, I dare you.

Uber-CAP is a thing of the past in AE. Besides, the Japs get a total of 10,000 Kamikazes on the map at start, and another 8-10,000 aircraft in the pool.

Also, there's every indication that the Japs knew they had to change their tactics and go after the transports in the invasion. I'm experimenting to see if this can be modelled.

I would add 12 CVL's and at least 1 CVB. I say 32 CV's and 120 CVE's.

That's too high, Steve. The USN had the luxury of being able to keep CVE's out of the frontline jobs to ferry aircraft and train, so the player isn't going to get them all. Remember that this is a partial-map scenario.

At the moment, the tally is 1 CVB (may increase to two if I'm feeling naughty), 22 CV (5 British), 8 CVL and 54 CVE. 85 flight decks in all.

Ok, I was thinking that the CVE's would be running to and fro bringing in replacement aircraft.Lots and lots of replacement aircraft. That and the Brit's might want to make up for their extremely small airgroups on their CV's and CVL's. I would have expected a couple of more Essex class due to the number that would not have been cancelled by the A-bomb raids, and also in view of the Bunker Hill and Franklin wrecks. I would imagine that even with the Kamikazes going after transports that the Americans would have had several of their Essex class turned into floating wrecks.

Nice!

Absolutly! The landscape there is amazing and the route I'm cycling is mostly like this!
This is a picture from the Eng-Tal, a valley that belongs to Austria but can only be accessed by Germany!

Hi Termie,

appropos of nothing, nice to see ya on Der Faden; shoulda known you could speak German. I'm smiling and dialing, so as to get my German back up to 12-year-old snuff. Don't have any Danish, but I do have French and Spanish, and my Russian is probably better than my German.

Anyhoo, love to chat with folks in their own language. So expressive.

John

There's about thirty or so replenishment squadrons, two per assigned CVE. I might (repeat MIGHT) add one or two more Essex's, although not for on-map start, similar to how the Midway doesn't show up until 1/1/46. Additionally, I'm implementing the USN plan to turn the Independence CVL's into all-VF carriers, so most of the Bearcats and F2G's will be on those.

How many turns will this scenario include? Will the Japs still recieve some reinforcement (ground units, new planes), what about the surviving big ships that were historically damaged?
What about the 23 Million Militia?
