ORIGINAL: ChezDaJez This is me during my 1997 Deployment to Misawa, Japan with VP-46. Chez I would have been MORE impressed if that was a WitP map behind you. Close enough though! Boy I used to dress like that back in the Regan years. Except I had dolphins on. So how was Japan in 97? I liked Japan... after I got used to driving on the wrong side of the road! Northern Japan is very scenic and it was fun to drive through the countryside. Farming over there is definitely a bit different than what you see here! We did a lot of cross-decking with the Japanese P-3 squadrons in Hachinoe. We had some great times and more than once I felt the effects of saki. The bad part was that we flew on more allied subs than we did Russian. Chasing a Japanese diesel in the Sea of Japan is a tad more difficult than playing with Oscars and Akulas in mid-Pacific! All in all, not a bad place to deploy... certainly better than Keflavik, Iceland or Diego Garcia! Chez
