Which WIF (all options included) aircraft am I?

Aircraft 1:

Clue 1 - I do have a World In Flames Counter and I fought with the Allies
Clue 2 - I was an unsuccessful design (although did have one moment of fame) and another aircraft developed from my original design proved even more disappointing.

Aircraft 2:

Clue 1 - I do have a World In Flames Counter and I too fought with the Allies
Clue 2 - I entered service in the second half of the war and saw action in both the Pacific and Europe.

More good guesses, but still no cigar.....I won't say which ones, but a couple of guesses (one for each aircraft) have been on the right track.

Blackburn Skua

Warspite1

.....is also the correct answer SirWhiskers

A squadron of Skuas sunk the light cruiser Konigsberg off Norway in April 1940. (Incidentally, the Skua was the first Fleet Air Arm aircraft to knock down a German plane in WWII). The aircraft developed from her design was the Blackburn Roc....

Unofficial clue (of no help whatsoever!) - both aircraft happen to be my favourite WWII aircraft from the UK and the USA respectively.

Since it is the US Navy, the Royal Navy as well as the Kiwis, can it be the Corsair?
