I've been watching this thread since the release and from what I've read here ... you now have another customer ... as of this morning!

It's been a very long time since I purchased an SSG game ... I have Battles of Normandy from way back when ... and I remember my first SSG game of Carriers at War back when SSI had Carrier Strike. I repurchased CAW again a few months back ... still a winner.

Anyway ... I was wondering (if not asked already)... are the older SSG titles (ie Battles of Normandy,etc) backwards compaitible with the new game system if someone wanted to take the time to rescale it and work out the details? ... Also, can the maps work too?

Sorry if this was asked before ... Please point me in the right direction if I missed it.

Status: offline 		Yes. Anything can be recreated in the scenario editor.

It is a lot of work but can be done.

Thanks for signing up for the drive on Kharkov and for your previous support, I'm sure that you will enjoy the game.

Older games and scenarios can be redone for the Kharkov system but as Joe says it's a fair amount of work.

At the moment we are working on Across the Dnepr, which was originally released as a scenario for Korsun Pocket. With ATD we have made the following changes.

Extended the map, to add extra hexes that were not possible in the orginal system due to map size constraints.

Significantly redone the Order of Battle, based on new information that was not available to us when we did the original scenario.

Created the new Formation, Area of Operations, AI and variants from scratch. This last task is the most time consuming, since the original game system lacked all of these features and so is no help in the new work.

However, it can be done and we hope that people will be pleased with the results.

Thanks for the fast reply!

I'm looking forward to SSG converting the older titles to the new engine.

Now ... for me ... it's time to read the 166 page manual ... good thing I ordered a physical shipment ... give me something to read on my midnight shifts!
